Once per week, I go ice mining with my corp.
Ice belt seems like a memory intensive environment and at some point, it crashes, usually twice in a mining sessions, well, after one hour or two hours.
So, yesterday, I ran the logserver and... It made 820 MB of logs before the game crashes... Also, I couldn't find a dump of the crash in the eve folders.
So, how should I bugreport this? Do I make a bugreport with just the few last logs?
As this looks much like a memory leak or some bad memory management in ice belts, maybe all the logs are interesting if they can show what is leaking in those ice belts.
So, during the time I'm in the belt, memory usage keeps raising until it reaches the point where in the logs it show tons of 'can't allocate stuff' and then it crashes.
PS : I'm not mining myself, I'm the one with a whip in the absolution with a mining link... And the new overview tabs and brackets is great in an ice belt, no more seeing those containers helps much! -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

In fact, it made files about 9-11MB... I was thinking about sending the last two files, but from the instant I enter the belt, it the memory usage grows slowly, so the last ones may not be the most interesting.
But I don't want to make some useless bug report and I don't want to send hundred of megabytes for nothing either. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

For logs that never show anything, they sure to take up a lot of space.
I too have run the EVE logger and even when sitting in an empty system at safe spot there is a lot that is being logged at any given time. I just wish I knew what all that data represents because I saw lots of lines that had yellow ! marks at the beginning.

Alot of it should be repeat data so it should zip up quite nicely.
Try zipping the files and see what size they are.
If they are still too large to attach to a bug report reply here and we will try to work something out to get the files.

I would suggest if it is not fitting to the bug report, that you upload the zipped file to rapidshare or similar file sharing portal, and give the link to the bugreport.

I didn't think of this... It is indeed very very very repetitive.
I'll try both zip and 7z and see if some is of acceptable size, if it gets under the size limit for my ftp, I'll upload it there.
By the way, should it have generated a dump when it crashed in the eve folders? -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

Yes it should have generated a dump, but sometimes if the crash is particularly nasty it does not happen.

I'll search to see if I have some dmp file out there, but I didn't find any at first sight. (but it may be drowned in the mass of logfiles)
Anyway, all this will have to wait until I'm back from work. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !
