Really frustrating
I wish, those so called devs and admins would know what they do BEFORE they do. I am really kinda disatisfied about this handling of patches.
It is great to have a daily downtime, which is more or less exactly when the server comes up again. But i cannot understand, that patches are are just put alive without being tested and then just add time and add time and add time and add time and well .. we roll back to status of 2 weeks ago and so on.
i took on of my very few spare days off of business to have some time for me and one of my biggest passions is playing online games. I would really appreciate to have such "try and error" tests on a live server being announced instead of letting thousands of customers in a state of expecting 1 hour downtime .. then another 45 mins .. then another 75 mins .. and no idea about a REAL statement.
At least i AM customer, and i am a developer and if i would act like that, my customers wouldnt buy a thing at all from me.
in short: I do definetely dislike situations like the one today. And i am kinda set up, cause this another day i have planned to play this great game, but it is not available to me.
A very disatisfied customer!

Addition:
Like always when a company gets succesfull they loose the interest on customers belongs. This is just another bad example for treating the hand that feeds you. Instead of generating timesinks in dozens of meetings it would be better to develop some passion for the game, its stories and the people who love to play it.
Believe me, you will have more success then. Because understanding the customers needs is the key to success.

At least they will loose some customers by end of payment period anyway. Maybe i will be back 2 month before the new expansion will be released hrhr. In common then everything runs and then the big change comes and servers are down about 60% of time like this days.
Should be at least one month with about only 30% server downtime.

Elite was great, but loved Frontier more, becuase it let u do more and there was much more to explore. BTW even EVE is a tiny lil noce piece of software, compared to frontier :)
Frontier had 100.000.000 (1 hundred million) Stars - the planets not counted, in most cases at least 3 planets, but often enough around 8 Planets with several moons :) Amazing though, all game only 700K harddisk space requirement :)
True graphics were not as good. But recall: that was 1996.

Originally by: Kayla Inara I'm somewhat concerned. EveMon was working last night and saying I was training Gal Industrial to level 3 (as it should have been). Now it's back to saying I'm training drones (which I haven't done since yesterday morning) and won't refresh again. I'm hoping they didn't rollback to yesterday morning since I was off work yesterday and literally spent the entire day mining.
As i wrote earlier: Rollback is coming and we will have more downtime in about a few hrs. Try logging about tomorrow miday .. wait .. then is downtime, well, somewhen after that ...
that is the TRUE NERF of Eve, downtimes extend traingtime.

Thats the wrong message.
Cluster currently CAN NOT accept connections - we do not why nor do we know when the server will be up. We apologize for any inconveniences we SURELY have caused!

It is free afaik? I used to use Singularity.
Of course I stopped doing so, with having to make copies of my Eve folder virtually every week because it can NEVER pull a new Singularity patch that applies to the present Sissi client state, and because Sissi is utterly pointless to test some things.
Try replicating for example something that needs a fancy ship, like a Nightmare or an officer mod. Sure, you can buy BASIC items on Sissi for 1 ISK but unless you're a school kid that monitors Sissi for the latest database load, then jumps instantly on one of the leftover contracts for said item before they vanish, there's no chance you'll ever get to test anything except market items.
Am no9t sure, i alwys though Tranquility is the test server. A live server cant have that much problems ..
