Edited by: banannagirl on 18/03/2008 11:43:03 Very simple .. your clone dies your sec level goes back to 0 .
The point of this is that pirating is an aspect of the game .. building up a bounty is an aspect of pirating - to do this very often your going to implement implants so pilots wont kill temselves when their sec level is at -10.0 necessarily.
But so what if they do ... you could implement a fund that collecets any bounty from suicide pod destructs and use it in a lottery or such. But the sec rating penalties finally after 4 years needs to be got rid of - it is the main reason that so few players are playing eve instead of so many. Im really serious on this .. if you listenned to me you would see that within weeks many of the old players would return and thousands of new players would begin.
The sec level is an absolute JOKE as it is today with it carrying over to your next clone. Make the sec level go back to zero after your clone is killed and this would be brilliant.
heres the reasonning - people that want a -10.0 sec - they get killed tey have to start from 0 sec.
people that have a -10.0 sec and dont want to have to kill rats for two months ... can retire from the pirating in any way they want. But your gonna lose your implants he he he he ..!
Simple isnt it.
This is actually ehat should have been implemented instead of the gate warp to Zero.

So a pirate jump to his jumpclone without implant, his alt pod him and he get the bounty and to recover security status without grinding?
At this point CCP should even send him a complimentary Concord frigate for removing a -10 standing pirate.

Nope, to easy to abuse and even if you die, you still committed the crimes. You are still you with your evil history of murder and mayhem. Only by proving your change of lifestyle should anyone trust you. And that requires you to hunt rats for a long time.

I can see this getting flamed but I wont be doing that, the way I see it is if you go -10 then it was your choice to get there. You have to live by your own actions so if you chose to go all flashy red then you should have to earn your sec status back. This makes it too easy to avoid the consequences of becoming an outlaw.

Unfortunately, your idea isn't all that great.
The idea about a 'gradually decaying/boosting' sec which after a while gets you to 0 sec is much better anyway.

Further advantages to this system of gameplay.
A - high sec ratings are a status symbol .. we wil be able to adjudicate how good players are by their sec for a change - High sec status on any clone can be rewarded with special missions.
B - low sec rating is a status symbol (sort of) - most low sec ratings opn pilots are actually becaise the pilot cant be bothered lowering the sec level and they usually start an alt. This is unacceptable EVE - stop punishing us to play please understand this. We are not children and it is OUR money we pay so that we can play this game any WAY we want to.
C - The return to zero on any clone will deem that players have to be better pilots if they want to keep their status sec levels. Thats is the whole point of the god damn game.
I killled one ship yesterday and one pod and now my sec level is -2.49 - that many will flame this thread will take days to get to 0 - but that isnt the point is it eve... maybe i want a -10.0 sec level for a while and only for a while.
If you listen we will all reap the benfits of this massively as i can say for certain that many of the old players will return and many many more new players will start to play that have been scared off by the sec rating farce that is within eve at the present time.
Thanx for listenning.

Bring back the old back handers to agents, but allow for them to pay concord, say 100 mill per point. if you are -10 its gonna cost youa bill.
This way the would be hisec gankers would need to make more per gank to cover the cost of the sec hit.
Having grinded my way back from -10 to -1.89... wish i could have givin some lowlife admin guy at concord a 1 bill back hander :)

Your misunderstanding the point of EVE ... it is to stay alive .. you will still have the option to return your sec the ratting way if you wish ... !
Wheres the problem here ... ?
Either you keep your clone alive .. or if you get sick of pirating you lose some implants ...!

Where am I misunderstanding the point of eve please?
What you want is a easy switch between the -10 and the ability to get back into empire (I am assuming for the markets?).
When you say you still have the option of ratting back to 0, do you really believe that any one would do a weeks worth of ratting over popping into a JC saving time and effort when the easy way is there?
As I said earlier if you earn your flashy red then you need to earn your way back, having the best of both worlds shouldn't be an option.

Well the whole point of the sec rating system is to eventually lock you out of hisec for committing crime.
Sec rating is supposedly the "consequences" for being a criminal.

i think you FAIL to see the point of eve.. its not carebear happy land like you want it to be.. you do the crime you pay whit the time.
you have to work your way back to show CONCORD that you have turned sides.. from bad to good.
having been below -5 a few times i know exactly how long it takes to get sec back up... and its all fair... i killed ppl who wherent pirates.. i got sec hits... and that meant i needed to work hard to get back up ---------------------------------- This is Me, fighting stupidity one post at a time. No way, how many people do you think could suicide gank like no tomorrow if going from -5 to 0 would cost them only 25-50m?
100m per 1.0 sec increase is much more reasonable, heck even make it like "reverse podding", you get 12.5% back for each 100m you pay.
You dont wanna have everyone rising their sec every day by paying a very small fee to CONCORD. --- Teeheee! mematar's Video Archive |

100 mill per point, and only avilible from one station in a 1.0 system, with only 1 station, no markets no fitting etc.
That way, anyone who was ganked can feel a little bit better by poppin pods as they jump though the gate :)
Hell concord could even bubble the gate at all times just to make sure you get ya lock on. :)

It's nonsense, your actions are supposed to have consequences, and frankly for most PvPers getting podded is nothing, which is precisly why bounties don't work.
Do the crime, do the time.

A drunken monkey could put it together that this suggestion is intended for one thing only:abuse
Might as well just call your suggestion "penalty free pirating"
Also plz get your facts straight, just because you know people who have quit the game doesn't mean Eve is on the decline. All it takes is a simple look at one of several server tracking sites to see that eve hit its highest active player population ever very recently.

Once a pirate, always a pirate. If you want to reform, you've got to do hard labour.
Best idea I've seen so far is keep everything as is, but with a higher sec gain for killing other wanted players (linked to the value of the destroyed ship, same as NPCs). Turn on your own to prove you've gone good.

And i have never said eve is dying im just saying people arent STAYING ....!You need to capture your market - telling people how to play their game is not gonna do this. Suicide ganking is a part of the game.... thats what happens when you can clone yourself forever.
