The new launcher needs a make short cut button on it.
Its still checking if its current before it loads the launcher
Its currently not closing when the game client opens.
Laucher reset all my preferances becouse I had to create a new short cut from my sisi folder.

If you use sisilauncher the gate issue is fixed but if you created a new launcher short cut, while it was broken, gates do not show up.

I do keep my Sisi install in a completely different wine prefix than my TQ install (many Linux users don't so I can't vouch for how well it works for them). I'm also able to use the existing desktop shortcut that launches "eve.exe" through Wine, I didn't have to make a new one to use the launcher. Win7-64 bit Using the launcher exe itself gives m a failed build. Sisilauncher worked to clean up and install the patch but install process is actioned outside the launcher. Until I see a out of date build and installing patch moving the process bar with a way to see the install steps like on the current sisi launcher. The launcher is a failier also until you can see both the sisi and TQ stats.

As far as I can tell my user account should have full access. I guess I'm just a windows newb, help would be appreciated.
On the short cut you create to use the launcher, right click and enable the admin rights. Once you do you will see a seal on the shortcut. |

Where is your short cut located. I have never had this problem. If I create a new short cut that is what happens though.

Win XP SP3 I don't use a shortcut, but the run thinggy unter the start button. With Win7-64 bit I use a task bar link for sisi launcher and a desk top link to the new laucher for my testing. It looks like Win XP does not like the format of the settings that the new laucher uses and is deleting them. Try one of the two other locations to see if that helps CCP locate the issue. I started a client version from the drop down to see if it will reset for me as well. |

I tried updating the client hat worked last week, got the new launcher. It started downloading and tried to patch before throwing an exception.
I then copied a new fresh version of my main eve folder and tried again.
Same result, exception thrown after patch download.
The data shown:
Exception during UpdaterModule.Update Traceback (most recent call last): File "lib\update.pyc", line 522, in Update File "lib\update.pyc", line 568, in _Update File "lib\update.pyc", line 295, in __init__ File "zsync\zsync.pyc", line 1280, in __init__ UnpicklingError: invalid load key, '++'.
Now doing a fresh install from sisi downloader, any thoughts on the above? I'm getting a similar error, many of the same files. Same problem with the frames bringing a forum HTML error, too. I've tried downloading with the SiSi launcher and copying the Tranquility files and letting it autopatch to Singularity's build, neither worked. Disclamer: I have never been on Singularity before so I don't really know what I'm doing. did you use the internal repair tool to the sisi launcher or the in folder repair tool? |

As the launcher soft ware changes stuff like usability needs to be looked at. The file in the main eve directory to install the new launcher needs to be diffrent then the name in the launcher file it creates.
ie.
The launcher.exe in the main eve folder needs to be named launcher-installer. Its currently setup to run a install program each time. Which adds to the delay of start up if you only see that file to create a short cut and use it to run the launcher.
The launcher.exe in the laucher folder, when used to creat a short cut, launches the launcher without installing the laucher again. It will be interesting when the next patch comes out what changes are made and if the structure of the files changes again and how it installs a new version of itself. |

I'd love to hear your opinions on what you think needs changing elsewhere in the UI though. As Sisi is down for patching ill just wait until its back up again to give any more feed back
The second thing I am going to do after I up date the build using the in folder exe short cut, is to use my other main sisi folder short cut to see if it still has the same fuctionality.

Yes, I know there's a Linux forum, but this is only a Singularity issue with the launcher, so posting here. Does it lauch TQ or show the stats? Even if it shows stats its directed at Sisi. |

New build only updatable using sisi launcher. Short cuts did not update launcher and did not start sisi update until launched and canceled the sisi launcher update. Same version of the launcher.[/quote
Update
New version still runs the update proccess every time if you link off the launcher exe in the main eve folder.
There is still not an option to reenable the launcher from inside the client. Makes testing annoying
The options menu is better.

I am not entirely sure I understand what you mean here. Can you elaborate a bit?
Good to hear you like it![/quote]
Setting up short cuts to use the launcher I have two exe's to link to. There are two launcher exe files in my Sisi folder one is in the main folder and one is in the launcher folder.
The launcher exe in the main eve folder runs the update check every time and wipes any setting that are linked to that short cut.
If you link the launcher exe in the launcher folder It works properly. But there is not a launcher short cut that can just be copied and pasted on to the desktop.
It will be replaced with the eve online or sisi main short cut in time but its going to be an issue if you use the wrong exe file when you do it.
Also the short cuts did not up date this time. Maybe the new version of the laucher is smoother but I had to use the sisi laucher to update this time around. |

CCP Cascade wrote:Hi,
Over the last month or so we have been going between multiple different ways of starting the Launcher, so all the shortcuts you see in the folder are most likely made by yourself or created when we were still testing some things out.
If you do a fresh install of the Singularity client you will see that none of the shortcuts are still there.
The way you should start the Launcher and the client is like you have always done it, by starting eve.exe or having a shortcut to eve.exe.
The sisi launcher is no longer supported and shouldn't be used anymore.
I hope that clears things out.
Okay all is good after clearing out and reinstalling the Sisi patches.
When you select another language and go back to english. It locks the launcher and goes in to Offline mode. The "restart "launcer" needs a H and the launcher does not restart when the blue text is clicked.
When is the Sisi option going to be included in the launcher?
QA is still asking for logging while trouble shooting issues. Not having it start on log in to Sisi is a step back in functionality. |

For those of us who aren't in the first-world, but work in offices that have a decent connection, we could download the larger patches manually and bring them home to install. EVE doesn't work through a proxy server, so even though the launcher would give us a transferable patch file after download, how are we supposed to get that file from behind a proxy? Has the launcher been developed to allow connection through a proxy? I'm not quite sure I understand your question. The Launcher creates a patch that you can simply copy to a USB drive, and take that with you. The proxy should only be an issue for connecting to the internet, and since the Launcher is using ports 80/81 that might not even be that much of an issue. If you can down load a file but not install an exe on your computer. This new launcher makes down loading the patches on locked down systems unfriendly.
With no way to tell the computer what version of the program we have and no manual patchs being created this type of patching will not work any more.
A launcher that runs on the eve server. which we can enter a version number and then down load a data only patch would be the best solution. |

The current error tree if the launcher cannot find an internet connection needs to be replaced with a simple connection check and no internet connection pop up. Would solve alot of the corruption issues caused by failing to find a connection. |
