Just today, I launched the EVE Client and it tells me that no audio drivers were detected and of course, after this, the sound was disabled in game.
I verified that the sound does indeed work in Windows as well as other games so there's nothing wrong with my sound card.
I have since discovered that if I first plug in my USB headset, the game then somehow works again and sound comes out of my speakers (not the headset). If I unplug the headset and restart the game client, it no longer works again. Please, what can I do to reset my game clients settings to redetect my sound card properly? Thanks!

Yea same here. The game worked fine for me before the Vista update and now no sound. But my laptop with vista works good sound and every thing. I think it is an issue with the Realtek sound cards. I can only hope CCP puts out a patch soon.

I had the same issue. I wasn't sure about the headset thing, but I plugged in my USB headset and voila! Sound works again.
Definite bug. I installed and played without ever using the USB headset. But after the first time you plug it in it seems that EVE 'remembers' this and expects it and it will complain that you don't have sound hardware and acceleration won't work even though it shows the audio hardware as being an option.

Unbelievably I solved this problem...and the two clients at once problem by turning off SLI.
