First post here but I've finally got to the point where I've finally hit the forums.
CCP...would you please come up with a way of informing both parties when "blue" status is revoked by the other side? a CORP or ALLIANCE mail would actually be enough to stop the constant 0.0 problem of peeps on one side being blue to peeps who see them as neuts. Can I also suggest that for a corp/alliance to become blue to another, there should be an "application" made to that corp which upon acceptance makes standings the same to both corps, but leaves them both neutral until that change has been accepted? This would stop a hell of a lot of the problems encountered with keeping standings up to date.
Cheers for reading

Then what about the alliances that want to backstab another? Is it fair that the victim gets an alliance mail in advance?
I say leave it as it is, if you're having those kind of problems you're negotiating standings with the wrong kind of alliances.

Edited by: Agor Dirdonen on 23/03/2008 13:22:03 I don't see any reason why CCP should implement this.
You have the tools to take care of this: communication It's up to your corp/alliance leaders to make sure standings are correct. If they can't take care of that....
Even if CCP would take care of this, it wouldn't solve all problems. What's stopping a corp/alliance that is 'confirmed' blue to shoot you anyway? Or do you want a mechanism too that would not let them allow to shoot you?

I do love the part of EVE where you can do what you want which is why I play this game and not something else. This is just an official setting I'm asking for. If you want to shoot blues as part of a plan/backstab then go ahead! the setting wont stop ya from doing that. What I'm asking for is an "official" standing as diplos are not always available. It is just an ask for something that would allow you to know of official changes. This doesn;t stop any sneaking/covert plans from going ahead.

Dude.. you cant blame CCP for everything.
if you got shot by blues, then your ally diplos suck. Its fine how it is.
Now go back in your cage

Edited by: TentPegg on 23/03/2008 13:55:08 i dont think I was blaming CCP. I was just voicing that it may be an idea to make life easier on the diplos. They spend a lot of time making sure that standings match throughout alliances. This would cut down on workload and up the time they spend enjoying themselves. That is after all what we play for isn;t it? I understand that peeps are saying "its fine the way it is" but I'm just curious as to what the disadvantage to this would be? It wont stop blue shooting blue if you want to.

This feature will be implemented on the next patch, along with the "Do you want to accept this PvP invitation?" Yes/No - feature.
Have fun, enjoy the lag.

The thing is, that it won't.
You seem to be of the mistaken opinion that standing changes are of interest to all alliances/corporations/individuals involved. They are not. It is my business, and the business of my corporation and alliance who we set standings for.
Those that we set standings toward, have no business being notified of those changes, unless we want them to be notified.
There can be many reasons to set positive or negative standings toward a corp/alliance/individual. Many of those reasons may not have anything to do with diplomacy at all, and may, in fact, create a bigger diplomatic nightmare if those changes were advertised on alliance mail to every member of the opposite side. -- My Sig got pwnt by Cortes :( |
