Many scientists have sought to probe the essence that is referred to by we mortals as "Verone," and have learned two interesting facts:

1. His accent, while on the surface seemingly natural and charming, was actually learned while he was 14 at a top-secret government-run assassination school.
2. Each of his many, many hats contains a dizzying array of spy gadgetry and hardware, including but not limited to microphones, video cameras, broadcasting equipment, etc. We would have learned more but our operative who stole the hat was killed by the hat's self-destruct sequence, which was activated when the hat's built-in DNA checker realized it was sitting on a head that was not Verone's.

In the end, we had to suspend our investigation because our team members kept dying. One was killed (along with a 3-block radius of Edinburgh - we covered that one up!) by the exploding hat. One was performing an investigation online in the video game where Verone is famous; we found him dead the next morning with strangle marks on his throat - we suspect Verone's hand literally came out of the monitor and choked the poor man to death. A third was murdered when he happened across Verone in the street in an undisclosed location in northern England, he disappeared and was found 10 days later floating in the Atlantic.

I apologize for the sarcastic tone of this letter, but I have found it is the only way to vent the ineffable anger that possessed me when I heard Mr. Ethan Verone say that an open party with unlimited access to alcohol can't possibly outgrow the host's ability to manage the crowd. It is worth noting at the outset that his subliminal psywar campaigns have caused widespread social alienation and from this alienation a thousand social pathologies have sprung. And they will keep on gloating and smirking until we make efforts directed towards broad, long-term social change.

As a consistently mortified observer of Mr. Verone's slurs, I myself can't help but want to stop Mr. Verone's encroachments on our heritage. Mr. Verone's morals are clear testimony to the fact that Mr. Verone's ravings are merely a sideshow exhibit in the circus of teetotalism. That is to say, much of Mr. Verone's success is due to the rest of us bending over backwards to assist him and to overlook his failings. That's clear. But I sometimes ask myself whether the struggle to express my views is worth all of the potential consequences. And I consistently answer by saying that we must understand that Mr. Verone is so harebrained that he transcends the normal definition of that word into a whole new meaning that also encompasses "dirty" and "silly". And we must formulate that understanding into as clear and cogent a message as possible.

It is easier for me to imagine a million-dimensional vector space than the number of inconsistencies in Mr. Verone's animadversions. The reason is clear. Mr. Verone's goons, who are legion, all look like Mr. Verone, think like Mr. Verone, act like Mr. Verone, and force his moral code on the rest of us, just like Mr. Verone does. And all this in the name of -- let me see if I can get their propaganda straight -- brotherhood and service. Ha! You've heard me say that his fans are all flighty dummkopfs. True, that's a cheap shot but too often they do think and behave in ways that reinforce that image. The take-away message of this letter is that history has proven beyond any doubt that Mr. Ethan Verone is a big fan of vigilante justice. Think about it. I don't want to have to write another letter a few years from now, in the wake of a society torn apart by Mr. Verone's contentious canards, reminding you that you were warned.

A few reasons:

1. He has an over inflated sense of his own worth as a human being, as a player of eve-online, and as an eve-online pirate.

2. He transmits this ego-centric world view to the rest of veto.

3. Veto, as a corp, forum *****s (nothing wrong with this). This leads to a general "isn't Verone so cool" attitude on the forums.

4. Veto is a pirate corp that makes videos. When you make videos you are more well known, simply because you are making videos of yourself and putting them on the interweb. Most pirate corps don't need or seek this type of attention.

5. Verone is friendly with CCP employees and the company generally. Thus, you will probably see this post removed in an hour or two when Verone sees it, and MSNs one of his buddies.

Verone is famous within EVE for obvious reasons, but outside of EVE, not so much. Outside EVE, he would easily blend in with the faceless crowds of the underpaid working class on wellfare checks who hasn't bothered to educate themselves further because they are happy with their lot in life. Which isn't much.

I like Verone for no reason other than he's a good northern lad it seems and he did (as they all did) very well on the last Eve Alliance Tourny, but I like Garreck more.

I don't like Karlemagne now, or those muffinmen who always sound bitter as lemons. Sex Panthers chaps also try so hard to get attention with their posts it makes me laugh. Funny how opinions get formed isn't it?
