1. Update your copy of direct x 2. install the lastest hotfix for direct x
if that fails to sort the problem
3. un install and reinstall your videocard drivers, making sure you reinstall with the latest version.

Edited by: Bombcrater on 26/03/2008 13:54:50 I think your graphics card is dying. Geometric rendering problems (objects having weird spiky bits) is almost always the sign of a GPU that is on its way to a landfill in China.
Check the card's cooling fan is spinning correctly and blow away any dust on it. Also, try running 3Dmark06's Deep Freeze or Perlin Noise tests if your card is modern enough for that. If those test suffer corruption then the card is broken, time to buy a new one. -------------------

This: I'm running an Nvidia 7600GS as well and it's working just fine. But when my 5900XT went dying it did something similar. Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. |

I have the same grafix card in two computer which are both the same make and the same moddodels one of them being less than 4 months old and the second only a few weeks old both from brand new. I to suffor with grafix problems both computer far exceed the minimum and the recomended requirments to run EVE.
Disapointed with the way eve prformed on both computers I petitioned CCP and got this reply.
Sent - 4/1/2008 10:58:00 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello,
Please accept my sincere apologies for the delayed reply.
We are aware of the performance issues that some machines are suffering from since the Trinity 1.1 patch and have a fix for this in the works which will hopefully be deployed as soon as possible.
Please apologize the inconveniences this issue has caused and still is causing.
Best regards,
GM Karidor EVE Online Customer Support
now given that there are many reasons for game lag and possible grafix failers I can only hope CCP sort this out very soon. As a bye note I would add I have a lap top that is no longer able to run eve, and there are others who are now unable to run eve on their lap tops. The roumors of the demise of your grafix card may be some what exagerated.
My Adivce is to wait to see if things improve.
To be or not to be......sorry can you repeat the question? |
