A really really bad change. It takes 3-4 times longer to align and warp to a gate in big heavy ships, as it did before - even with the bumping problems!
Why didnt you just do withthe 15 degree thing!
Every time I pop out of a station I have a hell of a job stopping and turning the damn thing!
PLZ! Do something! This sucks! - This is not my main. I have no alts. I therefore have no main. This is me. Mains are for whiners only! |

F You!! That change is the ONLY good change they made in the last upgrade... Obviously you never had to go someplace like Jita... The G-damned cluster F*!ks outside of stations are gone thanks to that change and if they rolled it back now I'd considered that grounds for quitting.

Hit ctrl-space as soon as you undock to stop. Wait a few seconds for your speed to fall off, THEN try to warp.

Fhank you too!
As I already stated in my post (why do people never read the freaking post before they answer?) - that problem is solved by the fact that you are let out in a random 15 degree angle. There is no need whatsoever to fire all thrusters!

What do you think that I am doing?
Have you tried doing that in a Transport Ship?
Why dont you then?

Well, a different exit for freighters and having the freighters stop outside stations would be a good thing... --- This is your Captain speaking. Thank you for flying with our spaceline. Please remain seated until the ship has completely burned out. Thank you. |

I propose a change is made to make the maximum undocking speed 100 m/s. I undocked in an interceptor over the weekend and by the time my screen went from black to in-game I was 22km from the station. I'd estimate that if there was a cap of 100 m/s I would have been less than three km off.
It would be nice if something could be done to temporarily lower inertia after undocking, though.

I'm sorry, but how? If someone un-docks and wants to instantly re-dock, they should still be in range. If they're interested in a fight, but still want to hug the station, all they have to do is double click in space back towards the station after they enter space.
That is unless by dock jockies you mean people who stick around the undock point to cause bumping collisions. If that's what you meant, then keeping players from undocking at full speed would not change that.

Well I just hit the stop button and wait till my speed is down near 1/2 to 1/3rd and then aligning is much faster. Warping off a station has always been slower than a gate, key is to just slow your ship down to the right speed so there is a smaller turning arc. Seems to work for me. though I do believe stopping your ship cancels out the undock grace period.

Stop undocking, too
What a brilliant comment! Did you practice that before you made it?
If the new undocking maxspeed thing is to prevent people from docking their ship again before they get out, then that is sheer stupidity in the making.
I like REALISM in my spacesimulator. Max-speed undocking is not realistic. It is at best very dangerous.
I dont give a rats ass about socalled station huggers. I just really really hate waiting for 30 seconds before my freighter aligns and can start warping!
Is that allright with you?

so... and someone correct me if i am wrong... but your going from a simulated gravity environment (ful of gravity forces etc) to a space with next to no gravity simulated force... you'd prob have a change in volocity when you pass through a shielded environment to a non shielded environment. So in realistic terms your thrust would jump from resisted forces to non resisted forces changing your speed to full volocity?
anyway, think its a great idea, this game was made for everyone not just frieghters.... sorry :-/

A simple fix would be give all Battleships, frieghters and maybe even cap ships the same agility as a cruiser for 15 seconds when undocking or something like that. |

I know that you can use ctrl-space to stop your ship while you are still looking at the black screen on undocking. Though I only tried it three times yet with one time having the ship not decelerate even though the 'Ship Stopping' message was displayed. I think it only works when you are already launched in your ship but are still sitting on the black screen, not sure how long it takes for that to happen.
Might be interesting to try this out a bit more, maybe you could even stop directly at the tube exit. Or even better, you might be able to launch FoF missiles or fire smartbombs while still sitting on the black screen, heh. -------- Ideas for: Mining Clouds

Well its not very realistic now having all the ships fly out and bump into each other is it? |

I don't see what the problem is... This is my observation when flying JF:
Before patch, when undocking a JF freighter, it would slow down to about 1/2 speed at the time when the session change timer expires (30s)
After the patch, when undocking a JF fregither AND HITTING CTRL+SPACE, it will slow down to about 1/2 speed at the time when the session change timer expires (30s).
I see no change here. What are you crying about exactly?

So then you're also a supporter of no top speed for ships or missles? You're also a supporter of no chat outside system. You're for the abolishment of containers that are bigger on the outside than the inside?
Anyone who claims to want realism doesn't know what they want. The game would break completely if you had realism.

Eeeh. No it doesnt. It still takes 3 times longer than before the patch.
And I just hate having to press ctrl-A every time I undock. Dont you? Maybe you will too in a month or so!

I do like containers that are bigger on the outside, yes. But why try to optimize non-realism? And what is this fix actually solving? I still get bumped outside stations.
CCP: Cut the max-speed crap, and widen the random exit angle!

Depends on the station type. Some - caldari give you a huge window to redock in. Others - amarr iirc(might be min) its fairly easy to be outside dock range by the time you load in a fast ship. ------------------ For Medicinal Use Only. |
