Would this be a good fit in a gang to protect it from falcons and other support ships?
1xHeavy Unstable Neut 4xDrone Link Augmentor
2xDrone Nav Comp 1xMWDII 2xECCM 1xMEDIUM CB
4xRCUII
2xACR
Very fast warrior IIs. Neuts up to 75km. Fun, good, bad?

Interesting fitting, but i prefer some speedmods and a warp disruptor. Otherwise the falcon pilot will warp around if he has safespots around the gate/station.

Yeah I would go for a NanoCurse setup for taking out long range targets.

Could work OK, but if you want to drive off a recon, then a sniper ship will work better tbh.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

Neuts on this setup do not go out to 75km. Also, 1 neut isn't going to hurt a Falcon as bad as 3 in their face.
Bad, tbh.

Nano curse, good ECCM mod, and at least 2 nuets. You'll have around 50 or so sensor strength and they have 1 cycle to try and jam before he's out of cap. If you get a good bump on your way it its all over anyway. ------

Bad, tbh.
He has a large neut, incase you missed it, which very well could go to 75, not sure though since I fly with mediums.
to the OP, you're bringing the wrong ship for the job tbh - bring a zealot with beams or a nano pulse zealot, or a sniping BS, but I'd go for less drones, a bit of buffer shield tank and nanos and med neuts. Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. |

Have you compared the sensor strength of a dual ECCM curse and a zealot?

Yeah but most falcons sit 150km away. Thats the whole point in all those drone mods. You can send drones almost that far out.

What do you think all the drone mods are for exactly? And wich setup goes 75km if not this one?

Bout all I can say is to try it out then if you think it will work for you.
I've been flying both the Curse and Falcon for a long time now, and can tell you that setup would never have a chance of killing my Falcon. Worst case scenario is I warp off then come back and start jamming again.
5 warrior 2's, even with the Curse bonus will not kill the falcon very fast, especially when you factor in the almost standard 1600mm plate on the falcon. Also, with a heavy nuet shoehorned in you can only kill about 1k worth of cap on a 24 second cycle, falcon has about 1400 cap, so you haven't even shut off his jammers. On top of that the base recharge of the falcon is fairly decent considering the cap bonus it gets on ECM mods so I'm fairly certain the falcon could regen enough cap in that 24 seconds to activate more ECM, even if you had capped him out. Either way you've left yourself over to being jammed, alot, or failing in anti-support role and having your gang mates jammed, alot, all the while the best you can hope for is the falcon warping off. ------

hmm. But those warrior IIs will go like 10km/s and the curse will have 100 sensor strength. Pretty much unjammable and will prolly chase away a falcon even at 100+km range fairly fast dont you think?
The best other alternative is not zealot that I can think of. But its prolly the sniper eagle with eccm in mids. That would prolly be the most effective one I guess.

Intresting idea, but i hate to say it: It wont work that way, the setup is not gonna cut it in an actual combat situation. You're better off fitting a standard nano curse rather then anything unconventional.
Why? Because how ofthen are you gonna end up being in a situation where this setup will prove useful? I.E far away from hostiles that somehow wont send a tackler after your slow ass, and able to suprise the ECM ships somehow.
Just set your drones to agressive and focus fire, dont release them untill you reach your target and they will destroy the jammer for you even if you're jammed before you get there. Ofcourse having drones/others shooting you can complicate that, but atleast you can get away and reposition. Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. EVE is like the "Fisherman's Friend" of MMOs. If it's too hard, you are too weak. Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. |
