Here is the problem.
For a last few day i'm getting terrible disconnects. Every few minutes. Checked some topics, and in one there was GM reply that this may be caused by problems with ISP.
Average ping to server is 45-50. And at that time, i had packet loss around 2%.
After some time connection became more stable, and almost without disconnects (0.5-1% loss)
But in the same time i tested it on other games and programs, they worked fine.
And some more time ago i noticed that if you had 2 packets lost in a row, that's 100% game lock-up and disconnect.
In that case EVE is VERY sensetivy to network connection quality.
So maybe there is something in EVE network code to be looked into, and optimized ???

Yeah I know what you mean and would like some improvement there too. I am connected to a wireless network and frequently loose the signal for a short periode and while game like City of Heroes won't have much problem dealing with it, EvE kick me out every single time.

Edited by: Amarant''h on 05/04/2008 16:24:20 Well i have same problem after the last update. Never disconnected before the update. After that it may dc like 3-6 times in hour. (or something like that) Drives me nuts..
Yesterday i tried something.. I put my windows firewall up, and let the f-secure program pass all internet traffic, and no problems anymore. I think there is something in the new update which confligts with internet security programs. Im not 100% sure, but i havent dc'd once since yesterday testing.
EDIT - i was in teamspeak and only eve disconnected everytime (no lag or problems with ts). So there may be somekind of 0.00001 sec timeout setup because it drops you out if you get a smallest interruption in your network. ;)))

The problem is that i don't use any programs to block traffic... Only thing is Windows Firewall... Tred disabling it too ... not helping...

hey there....I just recently reactivated my account and was getting dropped constantly similar to how you describe. I tried updating all my drivers and firm ware and reinstalling the game. with premium graphics on or off I had the same problem...the crash would usually occur when I was opening one window or another...the trade window or something......
I heard a lot about problems with d-link routers and once I unplugged my computer from the router and ran the cord right into the wall it started working fine. so far
so my suggestion is....if you have a d-link router, try unplugging that?

Same with me. But i solved my problem by letting my f-secure allow all networking, and i put my windows firewall up. Same way, if i opened skills screen, or some other window, it disconnected few secs later. Everytime same thing. Must be game bug or something.

discconnect on login screen...
The client's local session information is corrupt, probably as a result of failed cleanup during a disconnect. Connecting to the server in this state could lead to a rather unpleasant game experience. Please restart the client prior to logging in.

After spending tons of time on forums, i found "my" problem.
Downloaded pingplotter, and found that our global provider have a big problem... There was non-stopping IP changing on Hop 8 and Hop 9. Eve can't get pass this mess, and drops all the time.

Switching to backup channel was the only solution for now. (Good to have friends in ISP )
So if you have a problem with disconnects, download pingplotter here: http://www.pingplotter.com/freeware.html

I have the same problem, and I mean it - THE SAME.
Your game is broken CCP, my petitions are unanswered and my e-mails are ignored.
WoW runs great, think I'll stick with WoW then... -

Btw both me and Elin are from Latvia, think routing is the source of the problem here, Latvia uses Telia routing most of the time. Are you guys(CCP) using Cogent or something? -
