For too long, Khanid Kingdom has been suffering from a shocking decline in literacy caused by the exorbitant prices charged for books of learning by avaricious traders. Independent and not-so independent research (igb-only) has shown that the costs of education in Khanid Kingdom are a staggering 65.3% above the average. Providing free access to affordable education is a primary obligation for every government worth its tax income, but ours has been sadly negligent to a degree one would not believe possible in this day and age. The only conclusion out of this was that if the government does not lead, it must be led.
Enter The Khanid Bookstore (igb-only)
Today on April 1st the Khanid Bookstore officially opens its doors to customers and indeed the first sales have already been made.
What do we sell? The current inventory consists mainly of level 2 skillbooks but our warehouses are already stacked with all level 1 skillbooks as well as some of the higher level books. The short term goal is to provide all skillbooks at levels 1 to 4 (inclusive).
What are our prices? Our prices are fixed at 120% of the price that we pay for the books, most of which are purchased from the Hedion University. The 20% margin is to pay for our operating costs, transportation, taxes, and to create funds for the purchase of the more expensive skillbooks. In most cases this will mean that the books are sold at half the current average price. Come to the Khanid Bookstore! Refuse to buy from those who see education as a way to enriching themselves! Join us on the road to a brighter future for Khanid Kingdom!

I bought a book from you, and this was a great idea! It helps me tremendously. I would really rather not run all the way to Tash-Murkon Prime or anything and buying from other than you is a huge waste of isk. Keep it up, I'm sure you'll have a repeating customer out of me!!

This is an outstanding idea. I'll make a point of directing new pilots in Khanid to your store, rather than sending them off to The Empire.
I wish you the best of luck in profits and wellbeing. --------------- Grand Master of the Ordo Sanctus Imperator Templarii, Military order of the Khanid Kingdom

As I've said before, the Kingdom would greatly benefit from efforts like this. Shame you have to put a 20% surcharge on, but business is business I suppose.
If Kingdom officials would only get their act together in organising some of the other reccomendations cited in my report of almost a year ago, such as a capsuleer academy and more R&D agents, then the currently isolated pockets of strong economic activity could be expanded to reach across the region.
Also, where are your outlets? I'm guessing Khitaled/Agil area and Danera/Palas side, but are there any plans for a shop in places like Goudiyah and Vezila?
