Hi all!
I was wondering about your opinions about how to escape a bubble camp. I'm talking inbound and outbound but primarily if you jump into a bubble camp. How do you get out and what ship to use? Cov Ops? Inty? How fast do you need to be?
Thanks

Edited by: Solasta Kovacs on 02/04/2008 15:02:12 If its a half decent camp with bubbles, you:-
1- go back to the gate if you are fast enough (we are talking maybe 3k m/s plus to be confident of success)
2- mwd in the direction of an object and cloak immediately= then hope they dont find you before you clear the bubble.
3- If in a ceptor or genuinely fast hac, you MIGHT get away with just mwding towards an object- but if theres webbers or fast inties in the camp you have a problem
Most camps these days have huggins and rapiers kicking around which makes life difficult to do it any other way- and may catch you in any event.

With the introduction of HICs there is virtually no difference Selarana, only thing is there are couple of turrets on your side, but we know how much those help.. :)

Not really true- a bubble is much more problematic than a low sec hic. Most ceptors can warp long before the hic can lock and scram- even with the infinite point

Assuming the HIC has not boosted its lock time to instant (which from what I have seen they generally do).

Only two ways to escape a bubble camp. One is to have a big enough force with you that the defenders go wtfohshiat and run away or your have a ship fitted for maximum cloaked velocity using the mwd trick. Thats about it. Avoiding them is easy though. Always jump in with a disposable alt first.

Edited by: Solasta Kovacs on 02/04/2008 15:14:23 Not a problem if you warp instantly :-) Nanos and istabs ftw. Or if you are fast enough to run from its range (though others in the camp then come into play)
But ya- they often are boosted.

Options for surviving a bubble camp are limited as they do not need a lock to prevent you warping off.
Basicly you can either fit a cloak and hope that you can out manuver them, or fit nano and hope that you can out run them.
If they have a drone swarm, insta-locking web support and the skills to use them, you are pretty much dead unless you have the friends and firepower to break up the camp.

Anything with a cloak (that is designed to use it!) will do. If you jump into a bubble camp, hold your cloak until you have assessed the best possible escape route. As soon as you have found an object you are confident you can get out of the bubble and warp to, break the gate cloak, hit your cloak and align to it. You should only appear on screen for a split second or so which means they would have to be uber attentive to see you and what you have aligned for (which as we know, most 0.0 camps AREN'T after about half an hour of nothing happening). If you are warping into a bubble then I guess it depends on the size of the bubble. If it's a medium bubble, an inty or fast hac could MWD across to the gate and get there on inertia if they get single webbed. A large bubble presents more of a problem and in my opinion the only things that could cross one are recons and covops (including bombers that cloak as soon as they hit the bubble then try and move around it). HACs and inties, no matter how fast they, are will get caught and eaten. -------------------------------------------

Edited by: Schena on 02/04/2008 16:04:40 Inty,if you jump into a bubblecamp
1. Set gate as first waypoint 2. Wait 3. Wait some more 4. Activate your autopilot 5. Once decloaked activate MWD 6. Sucess!

I've warped in to several gate camps with my ceptor, never had a problem making it through the gate... by the time they lock you your going 6km/s towards the gate, at which point, you'll have already jumped before the webs slow you down noticably, the fast lockers most likely will be very unlikely to kill you before you jump...
I don't have much experiance running camps going the other way, but from the camps I've been on, most ceptors still make it away... The issue is that by the time the enemy sees you decloak you will already be traveling at high speed away from the bubble, and away from them. If they don't have enough fastlock webbers to be all around the gate, the ceptor will pobably have a 20-30km lead on the persuers by the time they are up to speed in persuit... if the ceptor MWDs back to the gate, your SOL, by the time you lock them they will be jumping...
As for lowsec, there is no such thing as an instant lock, just a very fast one... ç¦ |
