Edited by: MotherMoon on 04/04/2008 00:11:40 so I need to run in classic for some stupid reason, Dx9 problem
so I opened up start.ini
[main] role=client aid=0 server=Tranquility port=26000 edition=premium
what do I replace premium with to run classic? I tried classic but it didn't work. I get the error that start.ini is messed up, when I out it back II get the same same issue with Dx9 drivers error.
do I need a cap in there or?

Edited by: Tzar''rim on 04/04/2008 00:45:21 One of my accounts/clients runs in classic mode as it's only a locator agent atm. It STILL has the "edition=premium" thing going. But it was a premium install that I just set back to classic. I'm guessing it's the same in your case.
It's probably only changable via the ingame setting.
My start.ini is exactly like yours. I uploaded mine, it's zipped because eve-files doesn't allow .ini files normally. Hope it helps.

You need to find your prefs.ini file. Mine is located at
Quote: C:\Documents and Settings\my_user_name\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings\
for example.
Open it up, and near the bottom you'll see a line that says trinityVersion=dx9
change that to
trinityVersion=dx8
save the file, start up eve.

Don't edit the file!
Just run Eve with the /safemode command line option and turn off premium after it starts.
