There are 2 situations cuz i dont know when the ingame security will intervine:
When a missile is launched: Have the sentries destroy the agressor like it is now AND install some kind of anti-missile laser in the sentries that swats them out of the sky before they hit target (you COULD do this yourself before ccp got the urge to remove this ability thus encouraging the kind of terrorist strikes done in yulai these days)
When a missile hits the target: this will be a bit trickier since when a missile has hit, the damage is done (litteraly ) a possible solution would be to prohibit all missile activity around protected areas (where sentries are present), again installing the same anti-missile laser as illustrated above. This could be done in all 1.0, 0.9 and perhaps even 0.8 space. Besides fixing the problem of these terrorist strikes, it would make a bigger difference between 0.5 and 1.0 space since it is now all the same (8 or 6 sentries, no one survives anyhow ) AND it would stop the war griefing against new corps where i read several complaints about. You could even go as far as installing more crappy lasers in 0.8 sentries to have them destroy the lasers after a longer period (2,5km, 5km, 7,5km) or something.

i thought sentry guns used to shoot down missiles. but anyway anti-missile turrets in secure space is a good idea. but as long as they ignore corps at war

Edited by: cypriss on 17/04/2004 16:00:20 as you can read in my post i like your idea except for corps at war part. it will not stop declaring war on noob corps it will just prevent missle ships from being able to attack AND put them at a disadvantage for defending themselves. remember you can still be killed by turret weapons.
i know you are going to say well then make all weapons unable to fire in secure space. but then i have to say why should i not be able to fight my wars anywhere? might as well take war option away and only allow fighting in 0.0 space. the way for noob corps to avoid war is to stay in the noob corp that you started with.

I hate this idea for a simple reason an ore theif comes alpong I get my breecher load up and wipe them out and hopefully outrun concord sometimes I do sometimes I do not.

Well, duh, don't throw your ore away in the first place, then nobody else can come and pick it up.
