I had an idea about being able to load ammo into your clips in the order of your choice.
Why, you might ask. Well the awnser is simple. It always bugged me, that with missiles, you always load one type of damage. The thing is, with an armor tanker you might want to load anything but EM missiles and basicly waste your first ( few ) volleys on higher resistances.
Missiles
So what I was thinking about is, the ability to load EM missiles in the first few rounds of your clip, and whatever you want, after that. Or more specificly being able to choose the clip composition.
This will add another layer to PVP as you can prepare your loaded ammunition to what you will face.
Lets say your scout reports a Deimos, a Crow and a Hurricane camping a gate. You and a friend are in a pair of Sacrileges, and you decide to take the Crow first, followed by the Hurricane, and after that the Deimos. Then you can load some Precision HAM's to take the Crow down, followed by a bit of EM to take the Hurricanes shield down ( 3 volleys ? each ) and top that off with explosives to take the Hurricane down. ect. ect.
You get the point.
This could also be a great asset to a Torp raven that can fill his first 3 volleys with EM torps, followed by anything you like really, helping taking down armor tankers.
I hope this will encourage more use of missile ships in PVP. ( bombers )
Projectiles
And since I'm Minmatar and trained projectiles, wich supposedly can change damage type, mid combat ( tbh I never used it ) this could be a great tool to let that shine.
Another point of discussion might be the overhaul of projectile ammo all together. I haven't given this much thought yet but I came up with this. Minmatar T1 ammo will be divided in 3 classes. Short range ( EMP PP Fusion TS ) -50% optimal, all L shells do 44 damage, but with different mixes. ( balanced by the fact that 44 is 4 damage lower then all other races ammo of -50% optimal ) Mid range ( DU ) stays as it is. Long range ( Proton Nuclear and CL ) +60% optimal, all L shells do 24 damage, but with different mixes. ( in line with current CL ammo. )
Obviously, the details of this have to be worked out, but this was the general idea I came up with.
What this will do is give the projectiles a flexible ammo system that beter utilises their different damage types.

Sounds intresting, but a bit too fiddly for my liking ( like heat ), and I'm not sure about the projectile ammo change either. But I do think it'd be nice from time to time to mix ammo like that.

Sounds a bit fiddly but with preparation could work. I'd be interested how many people actually change their ammo-type mid skirmish. Actually a pretty great idea. Its just like ammo we use now, 3 Normal, 1AP then a Tracer in every set of 5. Keep teh damages spread out. Maybe a dev will take a look at this, or ship it to the Idea discussion forum.

Would be interesting if you beyond just loading a gun could set up ammo clip profiles like that. Maybe too much of an advantage for missiles, and maybe it makes the already smallish re-loading advantage for lasers even smaller, but it would be interesting.
Of course I'd rather get a function where you can actually reload all your guns with one click before they start to fiddle with ideas like this. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. I was thinking of a completely different system for lasers. " refocus lenses " wich basicly lets you refocus your lenses for your target at the curent range for optimal damage, and then modify damage based on that. It means you dont have to carry a ****load of crystals anymore, just T1 Faction and T2 short and long, or something along those lines.

All i ever carry in my mission boat is faction shortrange, (no faction) midrange, and t2 longrange...
Gives me all the ranges I need. Ive noticed that 99.9% of people on these forums have a signature. If you are one of the 0.1% that doesnot have a sig, copy this into your sig, and display your defiance towards people with sigs. |

I dunno, it seems like this would eliminate one of the advantages for lasers (reload time).
It's a "good" idea, but I think we might be better off with a reload all button.

You can already do that by loading different ammo in different guns. I want to be able to control it with every clip, so I can kick off with EM, or precisions.

the "ctrl-r" is already there.
The clips idea is the only way to "change ammo midskirmish" - the reload delay otehrwise prevent people from doing it. On the other hand, plans never work out. You prepare your clips, but then targets appear in false order. The advantage over other races like the amarr would be minimal.
The idea is good, but i would prefer CCP to focus on bughunt

and i never load the same damage missiles in my launchers :P
i use a combination of exp, em and thermal... kinetic is mostly to high on stuff to bother ---------------------------------- Yes... this is my main. Extreme Troll Slayer...

I think you misunderstood Liang, she was talking about "change ammo in every gun". Devs have stated already that they will add it.
