I was looking at assorted different items and was surprised to find that some times allow you double or triple the ISK per loyalty point spent compared to others.
Some examples: Improved Implants require 65k LP, 65mil ISK, and sell for around 90mil. Taking your profit (90mil-65mil) = 25mil and dividing this by LP (65k), gets you about 400isk/LP.
Basic Implants (Neural Boosts in this case) sell for 8mil, cost 5.25mil isk, and 5.25k LP, getting you about 500isk/LP.
Caldari Navy Scourge Missiles sell for 6.5mil per stack of 5000, cost 150000 (for the 5000 regular scourge missiles) plus 3mil ISK and 3mil LP, giving you a profit of around 3.5mil and about 1000isk/LP
Caldari Navy antimatter S get you almost double this, around 2000isk/LP.
Raven Navy Issues get around 700isk/LP (assuming you sell it for 510mil).
Standard Implants get about 540isk/LP
the amount you stand to lose seems to be VERY LARGE, some times up to 100% more if you use LPs to purchase say scourge missiles instead of implants.
What do you think the explanation for this is? Do tons of implants and so forth drop from NPCs, enough to depress the price of implants? Do mission runners not bother to calculate profits on each item, and just think "oh look ill buy implants, lots of people use implants."
Also, if my calculations are off please correct them.

I don't think it matters as much as you think. But one thing is obvious to me...
Volume. Buying up stuff that gives you less isk/LP can get you more money faster because you can unload much more LPs at once. And, again, volume affects the ammo prices because players only buy small amounts of it and are more willing to spend a little extra to get "just what they need". But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

Yeah I looked at volume and for scourge missiles its 200-400k per day, which is the equivalent of 120k-240k LP. I thought L4 missions got around 5k LP but its been so long I forget.
Even selling directly to the buy orders for scourge missiles and other items you make a bit more than you would by spending LPs on something like implants or military connections skillbooks and selling them.

Looking at The Forge prices, selling CN Scourge to buy orders would get you 476 isk profit per missile (after filling the first few orders which are buying for higher, but that's not many). At 1.6 missiles per isk, that's something like 760 isk/LP.
Personally, I get slightly more than that on average for selling hardwirings. Seems to balance out. But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

Those items selling for less ISK/LP are items that are available through other means, too - and things that don't use themselves up as easily as ammo.

Volume is important, but there still is offers out there that allow you to cash in big LP volumes at good isk/LP ratios. however those offers are usally needing some relatively big investment to cash in (say, approx 200 mil isk investment + LP and you will get approx 300 mil when you sell).
Main reason for less than optimal LP/isk ratios on market is that peole are sometimes stupid or lazy and grab 'easy' offers.

If your selling popular faction ammo's your going to play the .01 game all day as well. Its basically a free market thing with people dumping lp for isk and others trying to make best possible rate. Implants really for the expensive ones rarely get lost and everyone uses faction ammo for pvp.

Well, you can always run missions for R&D corps (though their agents tend to be heavy on courier missions) and use the LPs on nexus chips. They cost only LP and there are NPC stations all over the place that will buy them for a value of 1000isk/LP.
The real trick is finding stuff that sells for more than that. |

Did they put NPC buy orders for nexus chips back in? Otherwise, no you can't do this anymore, they changed this shortly after LP stores came in. |
