Unless ambulation is made unrealistic and everyone moves in a very rigid manner then Im sure it will be fine.
Anyway my first character was a male(and was very ugly :( ) ----
Nothing is as it appears; nor is it anything else.

+1 To the guy who said there are two schools of thought:
- You ARE your character - You CONTROL your character
I belong to the first school, and so my main (this) is male, but I don't care making female alts, because they're not ME, they're like... My helpers (My market alt is a girl)

I think for most races, in order not be looking at some mutant for all eternity you go female. Amarr seem to be destined to look like old men no matter what you do. The Achura male has that lovely nose that the females have been spared. With Intaki and Galente, 80% of the time it doesn't matter which gender you chose because you always look a bit soft. For Sebeistor you end up looking like a 30-year-old gothic meth addict or a dirty hot goth teenager (gee, tough choice). I've created a few alts in my day and I usually go Achura for the attributes, sometimes I just don't want the Achura male nose. You can go two ways, you can either go for the most hideous looking char possible (which is going to be a male) or one that's attractive (a female for most bloodlines).
Not that it matters. People like to read whatever they want into the way others play online games. Everyone assumes they're the only "normal one" and the rest of us are deficient closet homosexual 13-year-old sociopaths. The fact is that nearly none of us would qualify as "normal", thankfully "slightly abnormal" ain't as bad as what most of us picture.

I tended toward this as well. I even wasted a bunch of my attributes on charisma (I had no idea what this meant in the actual game at the time) because I'm charismatic, dammit. All my female alts are merely my underlings.

Don't give me the lame excuse of I don't want to stare at a guy's face or it doesn't matter. When you choose a character's sex it's permanent. You can't change the sex character or even the name.
Do you regret choosing your name or gender?
I play Female characters because its a little homo looking at a guy's face (or backside if you play other games) for an extended period of time.

besides... immersion factor......
I am secure in my masculinity enough to roleplay a female =P...

Quite fun. Actually being a female , playing a female role play character was just natural. I guess it matters if you role play somehow, not sure though. People do it for different reasons.

Also: How comfortable would you feel if space was compromised of 98.5% males? Yeah, Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
My main is male, but I usually make all my alts female. Why? Because if I have to look at a rear end I want it to be a female one. Of course that doesn't apply to EVE... yet. This has been my practice in all other games I've played, especially SWG. My main was a Bothan Jedi and my support alt a female Doctor/Dancer. Similarly, my main is my combat/pvp toon and my alt is a female support toon.

I fall into the I'd rather stare at a female avatar camp.
But secretly I think I had the desire for having the smug feeling of: " your ugly Brutor just got pwnd by my angry (le$bian?) Civire toon. lawl"
I just assumed that EVE was like every other MMO and noone cared... and never really thought about it... until the first time I was went on TS.... The whole "zomg you're a dude!?!" was pretty funny.
No regrets. At the end of the day it's a game with internet spaceships. Do what you want and have fun doing it. Luls |

..finding it quite disturbing that it bothers/disturb you enough that you had to make a post of it, but I'll be nice and tell you.
Hardcore RP background. I can't play MMO's without thinking of a personality of the player I play. Even if I don't RP them, I want a characteristic to suit their actions. If I play a pirate, do I ransom/not ransom, and what is the background to that? It's actually quite simple.
Pew Pewk doesn't RP, the name ofc gives a huge hint about that if anything. But she was created with an intention and a background that suited a female character better than a male.
Apart from that I think you're a sick sick bastard.

Because some people are online cross-dressers and love luring young men into their caves over the internet, or are into their fantasy selves. That's the only and right answer :)

Picked my char gender because the planned character for it fit better with a female. Kinda like how male authors sometimes have female protagonists in their novels and/or movies. (Yeah, I'm one of them weird RPers. :P )
Later I found that it also meant I'd be getting lots of free stuff from people, as well as cause some people to go "WTFNOOOO" when I first got on vent or TS with them. Always amusing. :D
I have since then obtained a licensed copy of MorphVOX, for added lols. Sadly nowadays everyone knows I'm male IRL so I never got to fool anyone with it - but making corpies freak out is funs.
I did manage to convince one person that I had undergone sex reassignment surgery, though. Weirdly, after that point he didn't like me anymore. Strange that.
