Eve Clean is a small application designed to make cleaning your cache files simpler.
The benefits of cleaning the cache files are:
Fixes hanging on the "Authentication" section of logging into eve.
Reduces black screen waiting duration on 32 of the 44 computers it was tested on.
Cleans up all known cache folders including cache folders from older versions of eve.
When cleaning does not damage directory structures in any way.
Clears up game logs and portraits to free space.
With all options checked will give you a fresh install of Eve without having to re download the client.
I have posted this because it may be useful to someone other than me if you don't like it or can clean your cache on your own thats fine please don't flame the thread.
Documentation and source code (.net) will be provided shortly on the web site this file is clean of viruses, trojans and keyloggers.

Hi,
Any way to make it so you can set the installation folder manually? Since long I don't actually have Eve 'Installed' but running from a separate partition, surviving Windows reinstalls. Besides, I run more than 1 client and would like to be able to clean just some of them.
Otherwise, nice idea.

The cache folders are the same, they don't change depending on the eve install folder.

Isn't the cache folder within My Documents\EVE\<install location>\cache
I could be wrong, but I'm sure they changed it to this recently so dual installs didnt use the same cache location. |

Not as far as i can see i managed to locate four cache areas but my documents -> eve just has capture and logs for me.
I don't know where the history is kept try a cache clean and see if that works i will try when i get on later to confirm.

To clean search history a simple cache clean seems to do the job.

Edited by: DarkKnight jr on 01/05/2008 00:08:45 Ok, just got around to doing a cache cleaning and it seems to have cleaned stuff, but not the histery like I wanted.
I saw that there is a root cache, and root settings folders with options under them. Should those options be selectable or no? I can't select them.

Originally by: CCP WeatherMan I'd still like to recommend the built-in-client tool to clear the cache for most of the players since it's serving the same aim and you have CCP's backup. Just my 2 cents here.
I tryed the in game one and became a sad panda when it removed all my pictures from the show info option and the back up did not work.
