Edited by: Sadomeso Enumea on 15/04/2008 11:04:34 Hi, what kind of amarr ships would be recommended for low sec if you have a fleet of 3 ships? I know... to fly alone in low sec with amarr is like to pizz against the wind...
I would propose the following ships: 2x Maller 1x Zealot
What about the Prophecy... i really like the ship.. but it's to slow i think... to escape with MWD?
Ship setups would be also nice.. but please.. not unrealistic fittings.. with millions for officer items... 60Mio / Ship as maximum!!!
thanks a lot

60m each?
3 Armageddons (if you have good battleship skills)
Or
3 Harbringers (if you have good battlecruiser skills)
Both will give you a nice insurance payout when you die to your first pirate camp. |

Well it very much depends on what low sec activity you whant... If it is about gate camping... then you really need at least battlecruisers or hacs.
If you want roaming gang, then i suggst 2*omen and 1*zealot. Where the omens will be papertigers, with gank fitting but not much tank. The zealot should be a heavy tanker/takler (ppl will most likely primary the zealot). |

1. max. 60mio per ship with complete fitting 2. for PVP ... against pirates (i really hate them ;) |

To catch pirates you wither have to find them at gate camps or to use a bait ship and lure them in a belt.
Most likely fast ships will be your best bet because gatetanking pirats will use battleships and those you can't kill one on one. And catching a pirate in a belt also requires speed.
Cruisers will be your best option (and also cheap).
The maller is only good as a bait ship... with 2*1600mm plates. That leaves the omen and the arbitrator, both fairly decent ships. Depending on your skill you can go for either.
Just remeber to fit them to be nimble and do a lot of dmg. No tank+gank, IMHO amarr cruisers are not good at this...
T2 guns are a must for this strategy, with t2 long range ammo. be carefull of missile boats as you won't evade missile fire. |

You'll want at least one Arbitrator |

that's very interesting... i should play a lot more with my Arbi... but the dmg output is not so amazing!? So the drones have to do the job? What about: 1 x Sentinel (Nos + Neutralizer) 2 x Omen (dmg dealer + fast, no armor) |

Real cheap pvp vs 1 - 2 targets?
1x Maller - Heavy Tackler + Tank 2x Arbitrator - Support + DPS (Maybe small remote reps for post-fight if you want a passive armor tanking Maller)
Arbitrators can put out a nice chunk of DPS with medium drones. The Maller can get some pretty high passive HP with a T1 fit using frigate size guns.
A very important part of any equation is the OTHER side. What are you going up against? Local pirates tend to stick to specific ships that they've grown fond of. You can look at random killboards and usually see their trend of ship usage. You will also see what ships they start pulling out when bigger targets come up. For example, I like using a lot of cheap stuff and stealth bombers vs cruisers and battlecruisers.
But when the anti-pvpers/pirates or whatever you want to call them come a'blobbin I pull out my nasty nass Cylon battleships...
Tracking disruptors are awesome btw. ---

An Arbitrator's drones are its damage.
This means that you have free high slots which you can use for nos/neuts.
Alternatively, if you don't fancy going along with the nano fad, you have lots of spare grid which you can use to fit a 1600mm plate.

The cheapest ship that gives you the most impact on any engagement carries no weapons.
I would suggest: 1x Guardian (4x Armour Rep, 2x Cap Transfer, WarriorII's) 2x Triple Heat Sink Plate/Resist Armageddon's w. remote rep ability (module or drones). Guardian will be targeted so remote rep allows BS to survive while it warps out and back in.
This is in my opinion the threesome that provides the best bang for your ISK. Logistics ships are dirt cheap and have enormous impact in small engagements.

3x geddon really is good idea But if you dont have skills to fly em properly (geddons ask for most of skills at lv5) then get battlecruisers. 3x harbinger vs blinky target WILL hurt. If all 3 of you set for gank (2x sink minimum + heavy pulses) you can deal around 2000dps = melt any BS that is not remote repped (or fit with stupidly overpriced officer gear).

Edited by: Disco Flint on 15/04/2008 14:51:53 Whatever you use as the other 2, I'd say Harbies btw, do bring one arbitrator. It's one nice little flexible support ship. Bring TDs, remote reppers to repair after the engagements and a mix of damage and ecm drones, whatever fits the bay.
It's cheap and it's awesome.

Well if t2 is not ruled out, I would say 1 guardian 2 harbingers Amarr is the tank OR gank race. Not the tank and gank race. |
