Try installing it again, and copying EVE to another folder. Most likely the copied folder won't get deleted.

Maybe the software has gained self-awareness, and upon doing so, realizes every time he installs it what a bunch of rubbish the code base is, and deletes itself in shame?

Is actual factual eve folder gone or the shortcuts in the start menu or both? If so... are you running vista? If yes, try running the installer in admin mode (by rightclicking). Vista has a habit of removing/moving things that it doesn't think you should mess with (just like a jealous girlfriend, but uglier and more expensive).

I'm running eve on vista but it didn't require admin rights at all. |

While your on, reformat and install a proper OS like XP.

1. Do a disk check (chkdsk /f -> reboot). 2. Do a security check of your system, you may have roque software that is hiding folders named eve (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897445.aspx). - - -

Do you work for a company that has the ability to apply group policies onto your machine? The reason I ask is because, no matter how many times I try, I cannot install MSN MEssenger on my work laptop. With good reason, I guess ;)

fixed it for ya'
Ebil companies I say.... atleast my worklaptop plays the classic client. =)
Regarding Vista... I'm all happy with it (atleast when it comes to eve). Multiaccounting works waaay better than XP.
