hello everyone.
i am looking to get out of caldari space and move out somewhere where mining is more profitable and there are less people then in caldari space.
i was told gallente space but i dont know the first thing about the area so hopefully some nice person can help me find what i need
i would like to find a nice out of the way high sec system, with omber and prehaps kernite, and a ice field would be nice too. i heard they are profitable =)
i honestly dont know if this area even exists but i just want to go find a spot where i wont be bothered and can make some money =)
thank you in advance i always know i can turn to this forum for help when i need it =)

In high-sec it's going to be omber or kernite. Gallente space has Omber. If you want quiet, try Amarr space. Kernite can be found there, and it's probably the least populated of the 4 empires.
Both those ores are sometimes hard to find in high-sec. They only respawn twice a week, and are mined out pretty quickly. Friday after downtime is a good time to look for them.

You're completely wrong about omber. Absolutely not worth mining. On the other side you're right about kernite . To OP: belts in Domain (one of amarr regions) are heavily farmed nowadays so expect to spend some time finding a nice and quiet system with fat roids.
The situation in Domain (isk/h): 1)veldspar 2)scordite 3)kernite 4)pyroxeres 5)omber
However, the same volume (m3) of veldspar yields much higher volume of minerals (trit) than the same volume of kernite, hence mining veldspar involves much more hauling if you can't sell your minerals in the same system where you mine the ore. Making mining of kernite more profitable from my point of view.

Google Ombey's 2D maps of EVE. They are excellent for finding the systems you want -- a quick glance shows security rating, how many belts are in each system, where there is ice, and where there are dead end systems. You can also locate stations, and systems with no stations, as you prefer. |

Veldspar is arguably the most profitable ore you can mine right now in highsec/lowsec belts, and you only get better profits from some 0.0 ore. So it really doesn't matter what system you pick, there should be plenty of Veldspar in just about any relatively quiet system.

what Akita T said
If you want some proof do a little spread sheet. a few weeks ago kernite slightly beat out veldspar, but last night I updated the numbers and veldspar comes out on top. |

Edited by: Kobushi on 22/04/2008 03:21:49 Sim'a Nuk I don't know were you say omber in domain region. That ore do not spawn in belts there unless you find it in some missions or hidden belts.
And I have to agree I've mined for 8 months non-stop in a little out of the way 0.5 system 5-7 jumps from the amarr solarsystem and never have I seen anyone in my belt aside from corpmates, never been harassed or had a single can flipped. and market is decent enough that with any kind of volume a dedicated miner generates you don't even have to go to the markethub to have a quick sale at a more then decent price

Knophtikoo and Sukirah in domain are 2 nice dead end systems brimming with kernite.
I can't believe that veldspar is actually worth mining now. Might have to get my dusty old barge out.

I was referring to the fact that you don't find omber and kernite in the same system in high-sec. The value varies with the market. A little over a year ago omber was *the* ore to mine, and a little while later Scordite was very profitable.
