Hello
I think of starting a new char for ore thievery and ransoming carebear miners
So will i be able to kill mackinaws hulks (barges i wont be a problem i think) with a t1 frig (punisher tristan merlin....) or to i need to train for a cruisers to break their tank
Second to that i train up racial industrial 2/3 to actually steal somthing I thought of something with 2 nos to cap them out So what would be the best choice regarding race to do that with the least time to train And what gives more stealing ice or the better high sec ore given the fact that my hauler have 4000m^3 +/- cargo
This is more something for fun but the char should be able to make enough money to take the losses that will come

Go for minmatar imo, you get access to the mighty rifter and the chars look better on wanted posters.
Due to the NOS changes you wont be able to cap someone out, try using a neut.

Wouldnt bother trying to cap them out, and pretty much any decent frig with a new combat character and propulsion jamming 1 can take them out. Just watch the drones

Possibly if you only want to use one ship and also steal stuff, get an exqueror. It can hold a fair bit and isnt bad at combat. _ EVE RELATED CONTENT |

As far as industrials go, train Amarr Industrial. You can fly the Bestower at level 1, and it's the largest industrial in the game at less than level 4. With GSC and cargo expanders II it can hold about 17,000 m3. --- I'm looking for a good 0.0 corp to join. |

A friend and i just started doing this a few days back. we both made minmatar, and fly rifters. I also trained indy 2 for the horder, for hauling what ive stolen from other people. Plan to train a cruiser as well at some point, for sticky situations, but all in all we do quite well with a pair of rifters. We are also making alot more than what we loose, so all in all, its good times with my new empire alt:)

Not to pop anyone's bubbled, but a retreiver carry T2 light drones can easily pop a T1 frig. Maybe you wont need a cruiser, but a destroyer SHOULD be able to kill the barge before it can do too much damage.
Unless the pilot is a gallente drone boat just carebearing for a little cash, then you're just toast :P

Yes, you can kill Hulks and below in a T1 frigate. There's a number of ships that can do the job but the key is to pick your targets and kill the drones. Kill the drones. Kill the drones.
1. Find target 2. Determine # of corp mates in system (if not NPC) 3. Steal 4. lol if he aggros 5. Point the barge. Engage afterburner and orbit 6. Kill the drones 7. Take him to structure, offer ransom. Hulk ransom can be quite nice. 8. If he pays thank him for his business and disengage. If not, ?, scoop the loot and profit.
For extra fun, if you can lock his pod, put a point on it. Unless the aggro mechanics have changed recently, so long as you don't fire on the pod, you are able to tackle it. Ransom the pod. If you want to, you can (try to) suicide him. Alternatively, if he's being a jerk about it, click approach and go AFK. ______

Now I might just point out that as a T1 frigate the chance of taking out a hulk is minimal.. first of all it's tougher than you expect if it's tanked, secondly it's got five freaking drones and with just decent drone skills that can eat a frigate in no time, especially if it's T2 drones.. and Hulks tend to mean serious business since they cost about 90 mill, so they will most likely be prepared and expect flippers. In many cases they'll have access to corp backup as well so don't be surprised if you have a bunch of BCs and the like jump in.
So in short don't expect to beat them, they're ravaging beasts disguised as carebear miners.. In some cases you might find a noob who's somehow got his hand on a Hulk without having much of a clue though, and that would be jackpot.. So yeah you can try, haven't go much to lose anyway, just don't be surprised if you go pop

Thats what MWDs are for... though if it has a good enough tank you could be stuck orbiting forever... (Or untill someone comes to suicide the hulk with the highend fit...) ç¦ |

I do that with this char
but I have a mission runner I used to resupply implants/ships and general gear
Good luck and remember to have fun with it
PS the best loot of all is the tears of a carebear

I don't think EVE distunguishes between tackling and killing. Any aggressive act on a pod, including tackling, is illegal, and you will go boom, leaving the guy with a nice little lol moment.

Meh. I was only posting because the Amarr were mentioned. Besides, do you have any kills made in an Industrial on your killboard?
