Please take this as constructive critism. When I recieve a CV in the mail, as I often do, with our standardised corporate application form, and the person couldn't even be bothered to fill the thing out properly by putting something like "see CV/resume" in the spaces for work history etc. I usually sip my coffee, frown in annoyance and the throw it in the bin.
Would it really kill you to write a few paragraghs here?

I'm sorry, but would that be the Borda System he advocated, which will not work as he intends, since it is designed for single-winner elections, and would backfire as it would empower large alliances to elect multiple representatives without the need for outside votes? I'm sorry, but it's the one issue OZ has actually bothered to post an opinion on, and with it he's demonstrated he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Regardless of what system is settled on and who advocates what, it is vitally important to get discussion of the CSM mechanics on the agenda. OZ has so far shown that he's the most willing to bring the issue to the table and debate it, instead of the usual ridiculous bug/feature campaigns that most of the CSMs have opted for.
As long as OZ is willing to debate exactly which system should be implemented, and participate in a council-wide decision on the nature of the CSM, exactly which system reforms he's brought up in his initial campaigning isn't that important. ------

I have a couple questions, and I don't mean for this to come off as thread****ting or anything like that, but I must criticize this. I read a bit of your blog, and it seems like the only thing you really wanted to discuss at the CSM is how the CSM could be managed more fairly, efficiently, and effectively. To this, I have two questions.
1) While it seems like a fine thing to talk about, there are only 9 seats available for the CSM. Is being on the council the only way that your CSM reforms could be considered, or do you think CCP would discuss them and possibly implement them on their own in future CSM elections?
2) If this is not your only issue, and I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt so I assume you have other concerns, what else do you feel the CSM should talk about? |

What bothers me is that he argued quite heavily in favor of the system, even when shown how wrong he was in that the system would not have the effect he thought it would. Doesn't this indicate that he is not open to considering the ideas of others, and will only push his own, regardless of what the best option is? To me this shows that he doesn't care whether he understands an issue before giving an opinion on it, and will cling to his opinion no matter what the facts show. Isn't this detrimental to the purpose and success of the CSM?

I have four accounts and hence four votes in the upcoming election. I'm splitting my votes between two candidates who I think are highly qualified to sit on the counsel. One of them is Omber Zombie.
I believe Omber is devoted to listening to the player base. Omber is against Bacon. Omber has committed himself to helping both carebears and nul sec warriors.
Vote Omber Zombie.

As I said in the thread discussing the issue - I would prefer it if it didn't even reach the CSM for anything more than approval of changes. Most of what was suggested has had no opposition to it, and is pretty simple in implementation.

The CSM should talk about anything it is asked to - IMHO, it's not the CSM's job to go out and find issues to discuss, it's for discussing what the playerbase wants discussed. |

What bothers me is that you continue to assume that your POV and opinion is correct and everyone else is wrong. If you bothered to read as much as you say you do you would have noticed the discussion on alternate voting methods in that same thread you were trolling. I am pushing the Borda system as to me nothing else has been shown to be 'better' than it for allowing a wider representation of voters. |

There is nothing really wrong with the Borda system. Alliance block votes are less likely to be considered over the vast majority of people.
Its only if you think that many alliances will not vote and many regular people will not vote if it would be a problem. But if only one alliance votes[because we can assume that alliances will have different interests as per the objection] then what would it matter anyway?
Though i don't think its something to hang a campaign on and think that otherwise inclined people can be trusted to support such a change if its deemed necessary. |

I have several questions, and taking a page out of Talkuth RelĘs book, I decided to ask each candidate in their own threadą
1)Invention ū A good idea that still needs worką a.Have you ever tried invention? b.What ideas do you have to improve invention?
2)Pilot Security Level ū Should it be more important? a.(In High Sec) ū Should Concord react faster if the victim has a higher security level? If the attacker has a lower rating? b.Should the Security Level of a system affect changes to Pilot Security level changes? c.Should the Security Level of a Targeted Pilot have more of an effect on the security change of the attacker?
3)Industry ū The Creators of Eve a.Do you regularly build anything? b.Do you regularly mine? c.What do you think could be done to improve industry in Eve? d.You have been asked to help with new ships for industrial characters, describe a few ideasą

a) yes b) more ways to obtain decryptors would be nice as well as a rebalancing of what datacores are needed for specific invention runs as certain items are utterly pointless to invent atm (drones/ammo mostly)

a) Actually, I thin it should be the empire navy that should respond faster to someone who has a high rating with that empire, or slower if they have a low rating. Factional warfare 4tw b) yes - 1.0 attacks hsould be harsher than 0.1 attacks - if properly scaled, the ability to high sec gank would be there, just not on the scale possible currently. c) no

a) yes, I'm a carebear b) no - mining is the devils work. Asteroids have feelings too Seriously tho - I mine now and then for corp ops, but I try not to. c) While I enjoy certain parts of it's complexity, it seems sometimes convoluted and the reality is that there are so many 'guides' to how to produce an item that it's obviously not a simple or intuitive system for new players to learn. Simplifying the interface would be a great start in helping people to understand what they are doing and the costs involved in it. Expanding from that base it would be great to be able to modify ships base stats (+/- effects balancing out of course) to start getting new ships. I was hoping that would be what Tech3 is, but devs have indicated that tech3 would be mor to do with the HeatÖ system. d) In the ideas forum someone brought up the topic of a capital class mining vessel. It would be an interesting excercize to design something like that - to me it would be something that you warp into a belt, activate a 'siege mode' style module and it starts sucking ore from every asteroid within say a 60km range. Obviously this couldn't be used in empire space, and with the 'siege' mode active you should be extremely vulnerable, but that type of ship in combination with a rorqual or 2 and you might see some more interest in populating 0.0 space. The other option that was brought up was a Moon material based mining ship - it targets moons and mines the raw materials similar to a POS. Then again there is also the smaller Rorqual options (similar to transports, but can compress ore) or the role specific style ships (Science class ships to harvest decryptors/datacores from special complex structures/artifacts). Lots of options out there, it's just trying to balance them into the game that would be the hard parts |

Well despite the assumed vote for any member of Sylph I still back the one candidate who in my eyes is more open to the whole of EVE rather than some defined biassed stance that we see from all the "desired" candidates.
Your blog answers all my questions, all I can offer now is my support. Vote Oz!
And dude, I have to insist that you lose at cricket and rugby to England now for at least another 4 years! :p

Omber, during your tenure as secondary market broker you disappeared from EVE for a while without any trace, apparently too busy in RL to find 3 minutes to log on to assure those whose ISK were entrusted to you that their investment is safe, or too poor to pay $15 for a subscription to log on and do the same.
What, if anything, can you say that will inspire some confidence in the voters that such disappearance won't happen again? |

The 'disappearance' occurred due to a dramatic increase in my RL workload that could not be avoided. I learned my lesson then that not logging in to post why I couldn't log in was a bad thing.
I can't guarantee that my RL will not get that ridiculously busy again, but I can guarantee that if it does happen, I will let people know about it. I have made sure that the time required for me to be active in the CSM (should I make it in) is free.
I should also point out that all that isk was returned to it's original owners and I removed myself from the active brokers list (which some people ignored) which took up all my limited playtime when it occurred.
edit: also, I appreciate you attempting the slight dig at me, but post with your main. ----------------------

More than likely, however it might not be a 'direct' involvement, but possibly by proxy.
