Hi,
I'm just trying to understand mechanics of empire gangs. I had some friends of mine that have been killed by the so called "war gang trick". This is basically as follows:
- You ben asked by someone in empire to help him in a mission. - He gangs you and at the moment is just you and him. - While on warp he adds someone that is in war with another corp. - The members of the war corp are waiting for you in the safe spot and kill you - period-
No concord.
Now I Expose my case:
- I join a gang of people that I know there are in war because I want to help them. - I became an active member of the gang. - I target and shoot a War enemy.
I get killed by sentries and Concord
Is this make any sense? Did I missed something?
Any help will be grateful

If you join a fleet that is at war you will automaticly become a valid target for the fleets wartargets. However, you cannot fire at them until they have aggressed you.

You have to be shot before you can shoot back.
In the gang "trick", you are in fact already in a gang with someone at war, and shot first. ----
Nothing is as it appears; nor is it anything else.

But then why them can have killed my frineds with the war trick? they did not had shotted the war targets or they will have been killed by concord

Yes, you missed something.
Corp A. is at war with Corp B.
You join a gang of Corp A players. You are now a valid war target to players from Corp B. However, you cannot shoot players from Corp B. until you are fired upon first.
The reason for this mechanic is to prevent a corp at war from easily gaining an unfair firepower advantage by simply ganging up with a bunch of non-corp players. If it didn't work this way, the following could happen:
You are at war with a corp and you spot an enemy ship in a belt. Your small gang of 3 warp to the belt and find the one enemy ships and 10 neutrals. Suddenly those 10 neutrals gang up with your enemy and easily destroy your 3 member gang.
Simple rule in hi sec. If it's not flashing red, never shoot at it. ---- Train more. Whine less.
