Where do you intend to source your information regarding what players want? Or do you believe eve-o contains sufficient and relevant content to be your sole contact with the community? |

Between the lulmemes, Scrapheap Challenge offers some pretty intelligent discussion on a range of topics. Some sections I read daily.

I Think both the forums and in game are the best ways, though its kinda hard to have any third party sites that has the info that the CSM needs to function as intended, and be open to the community. |

Edited by: zoolkhan on 04/05/2008 09:19:09 the forums are good, and many of the candidates have an own forum if you need to aim at one directly.
what i would like to have is a voting tool, like phpbb forum software is providing, certainly i will make use of voting to get a better picture of priorities. since eve-o forum is not supporting that, it will have to be on my own.
Should we use the inbox ingame for that matter? no.
a candidte would lose the ability to play the game, if the inbox would be flooded with requests and input.
much better is out of game mailing/distribution list and perhaps a wiki and ingame a channel.
active information gathering like scrapheap and other third party sites is done on top of that and the own in game experience of the candidates will do the rest.
9 candidates will bring up what they have stumble across, and i am sure that little will be overlooked. |

I believe the more accessible options for pilots to liaise with members of the Council the better, During this campaign I have used both in-EVE methods such as the forums, eve-mail, and an in-game channel ('ZUNI'). Out of game email, blog and website. I believe it is beneficial to have them both and would look to continue and improve them all as mechanisms for ongoing two-way contact with other pilots.

Forums are one of the few ways to get in touch with people.
At this point, we can't talk communicate with people in a good way, other than the forums. And the fact is, that forums only represents a minority. So we need tools to interact with the general community, not just the vocal minority.
So no, I think CSM will need some campaign ingame as well, to increase awareness about it. I have talked with many people, who had no idea what it was, nor cared. We need to fix this first. |

Definately. I had the same experience with a lot of people I talked to. Although the new message of the day appears to help. |

Yes, first steps are to raise awareness certainly. I'm currently running an isksense campaign so that people can click a link that plays a video from fanfest 2007 telling them more about the csm and how it has come to be in it's current form.
As for gathering intel, there does need to be a way to centralise the communication. I do have a site and blog as do many of the candidates, we all have eve mail (which is really not suitable for any form of mass communication either inward or outward!). None of these are centralised.
In the CSM documentation it does mention that their will be a specific CSM forum once running, it also mentions IRC chat. What about a central email address?
I can only hope that the playerbase take to the CSM and give it a good shot and make visits to the forum to post views. I have every confidence that CCP will publicise it's existence once up and running. Good luck to all other candidates taking part.
