So I viewed the people you can vote for, read the snapshot, found I few that interested myself, and came back here to read their views on the questions. And... they aren't here. No thread for them, not listed in the candidate listing above, no responses to any of the queries.
So, what am I missing? People running for the CSM but have had zero interest in actually debating in threads, or late runners in the game? Bit disappointing.

Edited by: Bunyip on 05/05/2008 14:46:26 Hello Dingi,
I can't answer for everybody else, but I do have a thread here, hidden deep in the pages of history (third page by now). Now that the candidate list has been updated, it should be somewhat easier to find the candidates.

There are quite a few people that indeed never showed up at all. And a lot of the threads got buried.
I suggest using eve-search.com on the candidate name you'd like to know more about to see if he/she has said something of interest. ---

I think it might have something to do with the lag time between the announcement of the CSM program and the point where we are today. This was good and bad because it seems that some of the candidates got burnt out on the process, but good since you really wouldn't want those people here anyways.
Plus add in that this forum was pretty much just found one day and people started posting in it. The candidates were really never notified of it. There should have been an e-mail sent to them like there when they were notified they were accepted as candidates. It really would have been nice if CCP would have hosted some moderated debates or something similar.

disagree. candidates who are not paying enough attantion to see the MOTD, or to doublecheck if they have made it into the list are wrong for that job anyways.
a candidate must have two attributes at least
a) active player b) apply only if they mean it

I checked all pages, some candidates have NO information in this area, and have not responded to any of the questions. For example, I'm interested in Question A and B which are in this area, and not many candidates have replied.
I appreciate that a lot of these people have played for many years, have posted in a million different places about their opinions and thoughts, however how is a new player meant to reconcile that? I can use EVE-Search, but this is taking a simple concept into a mountain of work simply to research a single candidate.
In the end it's almost impossible to get a fair reflection of what each person is really driving home as a new player, and if you want to get that data, there is simply no easy way of getting to that data.
In the end my vote will be based upon the summary each person has next to their name when voting, or if I have seen their opinions in these forums (and some I have seen). Unfortunately that is not the most informed vote, however time doesn't allow me to research candidates any more.
It's a pity, because there are some people running that I think fit close to my opinions, and I do hope that the CSM will affect the game positively. I don't have much hope, but that is no reason to discard the chance.

That's why I made a movie, so that players do not have to bother with huge amounts of boring text. Now I just need to get people to actually be aware that I have a movie and watch it, though... ---
