I was in the need of a shuttle today and bought one for what I thought was 10k isk. Turns out that quaker ripped me off for 10 million isk. Looks like this is something he is very good at. So please be aware at all times when buying things on the market. Wish there was something that CCP could do about this, but I imagine they will do what they usually do... NOTHING. To some it might be fine, but to me it is plain and simple theft.

Yes, this 'trick' is done very often on every item. I would love to see that CCP takes action against this.

As a rule I don't not think it is a good idea to slander someone on the basis of your impression without thinking of all possible situations.
He may be doing something I was thinking about recently which is to try manipulate the market to raise the average price. He may be manufacturing shuttles and have placed one at the top end as well as others at a reasonable price so as to influence the average price which can influence other people entering the market. In any case he has done nothing wrong. He put a clear price in which only had to be read properly.
I am sure some other people more clever than me could think of other ideas.
However I am clever enough not to make a very careless mistake then go very public about it and make myself look very silly.
I can understand that you are upset but this is one of those situations where it is best to "internalise" it.

Part of me is annoyed that this sort of thing is done in eve and it is really annoying...
But part of me says it is your own fault for not looking carefully at exactly what yo are buying. Escrow is obviously the worse one for this :( _________________________________________

What an ass! How can anyone 'earn' money this way and feel good about it?
Also there's a little bug in EVE's market system. Apparently it doesn't matter where the sell price is, if you enter something higher. Someone recently bought 1 piece of Isogen from me at 5 million isk! My price was 65. Of course I asked him what happened and refunded him. |

Like do what? Set a maximum price on items?
No fix is needed other than people checking the price before carelessly clicking "accept". It's the guys' own fault... end of issue.

I agree. Check before you buy! I count the zero's ten times to be sure.
I also enjoy the fact that this game has scammers and the like. It gives the game more character.

Ah, in just my second post, I have learned how useless forums really are. Ok, I get the point... I am wrong in some peopleÆs eyes and right in others. So all of you 14 year olds can stop posting things now. Not that I would expect that to happen:) Sorry, if I have morals and know that it is scam. That is just me. I would never put something for an outright outrageous price hoping that someone wouldnÆt be paying attention and then buy it by accident. But again, that is just me. For you people that would do a thing like that, then you are gutless and you are a crook. Now come on back down to reality and accept that fact. Some people are crooks, some people arenÆt. Crooks use scams. Which is all this is. However, I did fall for it and am fine with that fact. Just donÆt try to play this off as some sort of OK thing to do with people. The reason a lot of you do this, is because it is an online game. You know you would get the living crap beat out of you in the real world if you did that type of thing to someone. Thanks though to the people that actually have morals on this game, to you others save your comments cause I wonÆt be reading anymore. This is really useless.

XONXERCES,
Don't complain to us that someone did this to you on the market. Market you can see many items if used properly. Now then again if you did it through a direct trade thats another story.
Use your eyes and watch out, its the best advice anyone can give you. And like what people said its a free market if someone wants to sell 1 trit for 100million isk so be it (actually that was fricken funny when someone bought that). Just gotta keep your eye out for the crap.
Words of advice brought to you by me, the ALT
Yes I know my character looks ugly, but I don't care its an alt |

Well I do agree check befor yu buy... Nonethereless if it's scam it's scam. Just like player rats part of the Game but they get the 'pnishment' bad sec rating. Maybe there should be like a trade rating... Part of the Game but keep it fair. LIKE IN THE REAL WORLD YOU SCAM, YOU GET SUED ! You might even loose your licence for what ever you are selling etc.
So guys have fun and let that all be a lesson for us.
Nice Gaming
