Please evemail me privately with who you have voted for and how many votes you gave, and I will add the votes to this post at intervals of 3 days 1 week 1.5 weeks and as soon as polls close on Monday 19th of May.
You are of course under no obligation to participate this is simply a tool for getting some idea of the result in lieu of a CCP version.

Either way, im proud to say I voted for hardin twice(one with this guy one with cantlockyet).

I'm not too fond of people that publish results, as they might influence the voting.
Strategic voting is bad enough, and strategic voting based on inaccurate results are disasterous. ---

It's up to people themselves to tell who they voted for, if they wish people not to know that's up to them, it not like everyone will know who voted for who is it?
There are exit polls in every election, in any case and are a valuble tool for the voters as if they are split between 2 people they can vote for who it looks is getting the more votes, then they not waste a vote on someone with no chance of getting in, this way they have a better chance of getting someone to represent you're votes.
In any case whats stopping people getting their alts to post just to mess up the exit poll !!!

you are familiar with voting systems and procedures of >200 democratic countries around the world? Or is this an expression from a person living in a rather large country, often forgetting that them are not represeting the world standard?
In the democracies i have whitnessed, the polls start AFTER the votes have been cast.
Due to the slowness of the counting procedure (or the delay coused by manipulation) there is room for speculations, estimations nice graphics on TV shows, however in that phase, theorethically, the news, and polls cannot alter the outcome anymore as all votes have been cast before the first polls start to happen.
I Admit, _my_ experiences come from a country in europe. And i would not dare to suggest the world does it like we do. I would not even know how my european neigbour country is doing it. I can only say, that the "show" and the campaigns here in norther europe are so boring, and the press so neutral , nobody would ever make a movie from it .-)

NO the polls start AS the voting starts, so people late in the day generally have some sort of view of who is in the lead, how do you think they come up with who is in the lead.
Whilst not an expert i do follow politics in real life and yet to see a democratic country not have exit polls.
And there are exit polls in all elections no matter if official or not, that is the way it is, they are held by media or other such groups and the only way you wouldn't have a exit poll is if a news blackout on the subject of the election during the voting proccess and to me that does not sound like a democracy.
Wether you realise its an exit poll or not does not change the fact it is, as soon as you see the news etc and someone says who they have voted for you've seen a exit poll !!! |

while i do respect your knowledge and opinions, i have strong doubts that you know how this is handled in my countries.
You may be ineterested to know that i have been one of the guys who counted the voting sheets and votes, confirmed their validity and and oversaw the voting office at least twice in real world elections. I do believe that i know what i am talking about - limited to my area of influence and perception of course.

Whats so bad about strategic voting? If more people had strategically voted for Gore instead of Nader in 2000, the US wouldn't have Bush as president .
I haven't studied the effects of strategic voting on bad information. I'd imagine unless the information was deliberately manipulated, it would just act as noise, which probably produces a result similar to those people not voting at all.

While we in danger of de-railing a good post i feel that you are failing to understand what a exit poll is, it's someone unofficial OUTSIDE the voting proccess taking a straw poll on who people say they vote for, it's a point of view not an result.
BTW fair enough you counted some votes, but think me being on a local council for serveral terms of office trumps you counting votes.
Anyway i'll be posting who i voted for to the op as feel that this is something that will help stop voters getting bored over the next week or two and keep attention on the elections.

In the Netherlands it's illegal to publish exit poll results while the voting is still in progress.
For obvious reasons, because publishing exit polls manipulates voters. ---

Bad idea. Besides, it probably won't even be close since some candidates might try to influence certain masses to post their 'votes' here, while others don't go that low.
