I'm currently looking at the Prowler in EFT, and punching my skills into it gives me a base velocity of 289m/s. Now if I switch to the "All level V" skills setting, it's base velocity goes up to 480m/s My Navigation is maxed so the velocity should be the same, afaik...
I guess my question is: what skills am I overlooking that would affect the ships velocity? Or is there something else I'm missing? |

Do you have armor rigs on the fit and just L1 armor rigging ? Or do you have some snakes (or other speed implants) selected on the "all L5" character ?

Has to be something like this. Thought it might have something to do with training the trasport ships skill to lvl5, but that would never make such a huge difference. Better still, you need navigation V and transport ships V to get a prowler to fly 289m/s (185*1.25*1.25). However a Shaqil's speed enhancer (+8%) and a full set of snakes(+3%) will push a Prowler to 480m/s. So better check if the level char has those implants in his head. |

He was talking about base velocity, i.e. no ab or mwd, and you need one of those fitted for acceleration control to have any use. Also a single ab, without acceleration control, would speed up a 289m/s prowler to about 580m/s, 100 more than what he got.

Hehe. Well, case closed.
It was a set of Snakes I added to my All Level V a few months ago for a little experiment then totally forgot about. |

Hehe, for those experiments I always have separate characters created in EFT. Just go to your EFT directory into the characters subdirectory, and copy "All level V.chr" to something else (like "All level V snaked.chr"), and use this as your experimenting clone.
As a side-note, I also keep an "All level IV" char to see the stats of a ship on "average" skills. To do that, just copy the All level V file as above, open in notepad, and just replace every occurence of "=5" with "=4". Will of course lead to EFT displaying a red bar when using T2 guns or something, but I find that the numbers are helpful when trying to outfit a ship you're about to fly more than All level V.
