I am the sad user of a 7xxx nvidia card and the graphic glitches annoy the hell out of me atm on the official client. I had the wine+eve combo working fine on Ubuntu 8.04, but I decided to switch to Arch for other unrelated issues. Got everything setup, and was met with this problem with the EULA (yes I copied corefonts). So I assumed it was something else, but I couldn't figure it out, said screw it, and went back to Ubuntu. I now have the same problem on Ubuntu -.-
So basically, what did I accidentally do in Ubuntu the first time that made it work that I am not doing now? I am using the latest wine straight from winehq (1.0RC1 atm). And again, I copied the corefonts, because that would be the obvious solution. Atm the EULA window pops up, and just hangs, with no text in it, and it won't let me scroll down.
I get this error about 20 times err:threadpool:iocp_poller NtRemoveIoCompletion failed: 0xc0000008

Well, if it worked when you first installed it, how about removing your ~/.wine folder and reinstalling?

nope, didn't help
I think you miss understand slightly too, I install ubuntu 8, did the wine+eve thing, it was all great
formatted, installed arch linux wine + eve = no EULA
switched back to ubuntu 8 because eve wasn't working, but no EULA on that now either :/ the version of Wine has changed, but I can't imagine that would mess up displaying of the EULA that worked in a previous version --------------------------------------------------------------------- What do you call the person that brings a gun to a knife fight?

Edited by: Debeus on 12/05/2008 22:22:08 Read my post and see you didn't miss anything. You do have 3d working, right? Also the .ttf fonts copied to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts ?
When you remove ~/.wine and start fresh, run winecfg and choose the appropriate audio device (alsa).
