Ok... simple idea really!
I'd like maybe 1 Jove battleship that would roam around a sytem or through a particular region attacking targets and of course being attacked by other ships too... This in turn would drop good loot that most other NPC's dont drop!
I've seen the jovian video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ag2bKpxvDx8&feature=related
I believe this would be a good idea... possibly only for the low 0.0 areas only! ----- "Kneel before your god" --Apophis -Stargate SG-1 |

I'd love to see more stuff in the game to spice it up a bit... if not jovians.. some sort of exotic lifeforms? something? anything?

Maybe they want some samples of our genetic code to repair theirs. But since that's not an official project, their government has forbidden that - and those people saying it's needed do their thing without sanctioning of the Jove Government - and since it's called illegal by the jovians, Concord calls it illegal, too - and therefore these are free to shoot... --- "Multiple exclamation marks are a sure sign for a diseased mind." -Terry Pratchett |

I think this is the most plausible storyline introducing the Jovians into Eve. I think it would be a great idea if the whole storyline is executed correctly.

Then I'd rather get loot from those who were able to steal from the Jove. Seriously, they've got to have Tech 4 or such.

Rogue Jovians? Nice.
But since they're not backed by the government, I'd say their stuff should be sub-standard(Jovian standard). A Jovian Pirate faction. Giving them true Jovian stuff would be overpowered. -------------------------------------------------- I'm a rich person. How I know? I can afford to be a miner. |

I was kinda under the impression the Jove were a race specifically for CCP's use. A form only the GMs can take, just like every other MMO has. So making random rats that look like GMs doesn't sound like a good idea.
Also, from what stats I've seen of Jovian ships from places like Battleclinic, they're not going to put up much of a fight. You shoot them, they vaporize you so hard your parents get bruises.
If anything, I'd suggest a randomly occuring wormhole that sucks nearby ships into Jove space. They appear in the midst of several ships, with a station in the distance. If you try to advance on the station, or leave the area, you're warped back to the edge of normal space. If you attack the Jove, your ~pod~ will be warped back to normal space. Then you can say you saw the Jove, without making them just another rat to pop in WC.

Why would we be able to detect their ships?
They could kidnap people before a blood raider raid, no one will notice!

Good question... what if the Jove are amongst us right now... and we don't even know it?

Because they're a hyperintelligent, super advanced race of space travelers... so they must just be dying to seek us out, probe our anuses, and mutilate our livestock. That's what always happens, particularly to uneducated, inbred rednecks.

Note that if you read the backstory, you will see tips showing that jovians may have some agents operating out of their space and showing up only when there's something interesting to do. I think it was the part about when they discovered the abandonned stations in 0.0. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

They said back ago, years ago, that the jovians will be able to be chosen by players as their race in the future...
