The Caldari and Gallente seem on the brink of war, hundreds of thousands are already dead. We have rogue elements of the Matari navy attacking Amarrian bases in Amarrian space. We have unrest and riots in the Republic, whose ambassadors speak more like warmongers than peaceful inhabitants of the universe. The time of the Pax Amarria may well be over soon.
Despite our lack of an Emperor and the best efforts of the Matari terrorists. We stand above the storm. Karsoth has maintained stability, and the ruinous civil strife in the other Empires has not reached Amarr. We are blessed.
The Pax Amarr should not end by our own hand. Rather we should maintain the peace we created for as long as possible. Our last emperors have been wise, and if we follow their lead, we will not be the party to start any war.
Yet we must be ready. We must purge out any weakness in our forces, we must be ready to take on any force that might come our way; and to repay any aggression against our God Blessed Empire with interest.
I call on the pod-pilots loyal to Amarr to start their stockpiling. I call upon them to prepare for any eventuality, to have combat vessels ready for whatever might come our way. I call upon them to organize. To train for war. I ask all those loyal to Amarr to make themselves known to those who have long fought to defend the Empire of God. If we should see conflict reaching our borders, we will need to already be organized. If we wait until that conflict comes, it will catch us unprepared. We must be ready to meet the minions of the demon whenever they show themselves.
If we wish to preserve the Pax Amarria, we must be ready for war.
If those around us see an impregnable Amarr, an Amarr ringed with manned defenses, with defenders in legion ready to make anyone who might attack us rue the day they dared to attack the Empire of God, then we might avoid war entirely as those around us will be too cowardly to dare attack.
And if they prove so lacking in acumen that they attack regardless, if savage warmongering barbarians appear before our gates. Then we will be ready to drive them into their holes.
We must stand ready. We must stand prepared. We must be ready to honor our faith, to honor our God, and to honor the Empire of God's Faithful.

As you obviously cannot take that kind of oath for the Empire, this raises an interesting question: what will you do now, if the Empire starts it? Will you break this oath and join the war, or will you break the one of loyalty to your nation?

Hah I laugh at the absurdity of Matari independence when I read your post. Brother Rodj clearly stated he would not start a war on his own, but he would fight a war if started by the holy empire or the republic.

I am pleased to see names I do not recognise pledging their support to the Empire of God.
That is an excellent sign and indicative of the splendor of our beloved Empire.

Given the recent escalations and increased support of terrorist elements by supporters of the republic, I must repeat my call for preparedness.
The Republic may still yet back off the foolish course it seems to be preparing to embark on. It may actually do what it would take to stop the attacks of terrorists, but we must be ready if they chose a more blood soaked course of action.
We must serve the Empire to the best of our ability and live up to the splendour of our ancestors.

There is no proof of Republic support to the terrorists, any more than there has ever been.
One can only guess at the motivations of the Empire to suddenly make an issue about something that has happened for years -- both the slavetrade ship shot down in Republic space, and now the terrorist attacks in Empire space.
My guess is that the increasing possibility of the Federation being tied up in their own troubles makes some Amarr think an attempt at Reclaiming the Republic might actually have a chance of succeeding.
A call for preparedness is indeed a good call. But a true call for peace would be even more welcome.
I could also point out that unlike Nachson implies, the question of slavetraders in Republic space is not exactly symmetric to Minmatar terorrists in the Empire. The Republic has repeatedly renounced the terrorist actions and the violence on civilians. I have yet to hear the Empire renounce slavery.

This is precisely the type of intransigence and arrogance which keeps Khanid away. Either the Empire humbles itself to compromise and entice the Kingdom back, or God will humble the Empire (perhaps by means of Amarr's true enemies, no?).

Clever, minx, but the true parallel is not whether the Empire has renounced slavery; it's whether it condemns slave raids into Republic space...which, of course, it has.
