We have factional warfare comming really soon. As part of this, were getting NEW low-sec regions added to the game... Factional warfare will mostly take part in low-sec, where factions can control stations etc etc now on behaf of their faction...
Thus, unless im mistaken...
1. RPers/Factional Warfare peeps come to low sec 2. I shoot said peeps, because well..its what i do. 3. ??? 4. PROFIT!
So, is this looking like more and more of a major bonus for us pirates/criminals and a way to finally give much love to low-sec peons? This is just what ive gathered thus far reading around...

No, you'll see the same amount of targets that you see now. People will still avoid heavily populated low-sec areas unless the rewards of FW missions are amazing. Which they most likely won't be.

Just simply judging from the ammount of attention its generating on the General Forums alone from all sorts of care-bear types (and otherwise), i seriously dont think they will avoid it. They seem positively EXCITED at the prospect.

Here are questions:
1-Are outlaws able to easily access the new losec regions or are they restricted by sec status in some fashion?
2-With regard to ongoing stuff within this new area....are non-political outlaws able to come in to pick fights with whoever?
3-What is the anticipated effect on the rest of losec?
4-How will blobs be kept from camping the **** out of the gateway systems leading to the new areas (s)?
Because every fail 0.0 dyspro-***** F1-F8 blob jockey is gonna be sitting right on those gates playing Duck Hunt...guaranteed. And while entertaining in some obscure fashion to the T2 bubble camp brigade the average Empire dweller will scream like a banshee as they get ganked over and over again attempting to reach the new content.
It would be nice to know that the rest of losec will remain as normal with current varied populations too.

the limited entry gates will help i think.
will help poorer people (and let's be honest, most carebears dont play enough to actually make good money) who realize "i can bring a rifter and still be decently useful", vs "i can bring a rifter and get alphad at warp in"

Since I'm no longer -10 flashy I'm gonna see how it plays out and go for the highsec half of it for a bit
But it should be fun no matter how many actually decide to participate. ------------

The new space prob will have a faction milita block. So unless ya join a faction your locked from entry.
I dont know if thats the case but i do see major issues if anyone could willy nilly enter the combat zone and pod everyone. The issue being crying lol. I would lol.
Anyway i thought od a letter of marque as a option for you. posted in this forum about it. So i wont gointo it here,.

The new low sec is just normal low sec, caldari didn't have enough of it so it's been added but devs said it had nothing special about it

But it does look like it is branching off of Otsasai-Nalvula. Is this in fac tthe case? If so, it is hugely, incredibly, and undoubtably special. Taxman IV: Rogue Agent

Yep, its special all right. Theres going to be Factional Warface missions and capturable stations.
"As Far As I Know" ALL of the added low-sec will be accessible to the general population. ASSUMING CCP stays within its own definition of "Low-Sec" this should mean only gate and station- guns to stop people from ganking like mad in the areas. This of course will not affect the people involved in factional warfare because (as i see it thus far) they are required to actually join a Faction Alliance (an NPC alliance) in order to participate. This of course enables the various Factional Alliances to thus war-dec each other enabling open hostilities in low-sec and (presumably) empire space without fear of concord (though how the individual faction navies outside concord relate to this is yet to be revealed...).
Some of the exact details have yet to be revealed however. Wouldn't it be nice if someone from CCP poked his head in this thread to give us a touch of hope or "pirate-related" information besides what I have pieced together on my own?
Regardless....heres hoping for a new "Golden-Age" of piracy!

Errr... "Golden Age" is probably a bit optimistic at best for that particular hub. Targets will still have to pass through either Nalv or Ots, which can be pretty hit or miss depending on which corps are active. And until hi-sec folks band together and crush the gatecamps (noobcorp style), or the Ots POS owners decide to ***** down again, we won't see much traffic through those gates. 'Course there is the possibility that the new gate types (highway & frontier) might bypass the standard gates. Could be both a good and a bad thing. Guess we will see in the Dev Blogs.

I dunno, you can: a) blob it up in 0.0 and join mining ops to help your boss get a titan, b) spend hours camping a gate and hoping for an afk Iteron, or c) join a faction, and get lots of PVP whenever you want it, in whatever ship size you like.
I don't think it's going to hurt piracy, in fact there will be more PVP-fit targets to make piracy more fun! But it will definitely tap into the same pool of potential recruits that both pirates and 0.0 alliances draw from.

If its losec I should need NOTHING in order to freely engage whoever I please.
My questions stand.

From what I've been reading in the dev blogs it seems nothing will change in low sec other than it getting a lot more populated. People have whined about the possibility of getting ganked by pirates and ccp have responded by saying 'whats the difference? its all pvp' they forsee the FW peeps ganging up to take out the gate camps and gain some control over said low sec systems. So I think its going to be good for all tbh.

Its not the case, thats something they would have mentioned on the live dev blog. FW test is tonight at 1900 gmt so you can find out there.
Also the population of of low sec will increase, will PvP fitted ships. Faction warfare isn't for carebears to run out and farm NPCs, like the pirates are used to, I predict low sec will resemble 0.0 with roaming gangs and pvp fitted ships.
So if your a pilot whoes made a career out of punking noobs then you may be in for abit of a shock. Pirates while non alligned may see a new political use in actual privateering.

NO. What this thing does, is bring pvp oriented peeps into low sec in order to fight in the soon to be factional warfare. The carebears that are now in empire and mission run all day with will think 3times before mission running in low sec, because it will be even more dangerous for them.
Some will move indeed, some will benefit from areas of low sec controlled by other corps, etc. for a certain faction and have "relative" safety to mission run.
But this is crumbs.
What the expansion will do, is boost small gang warfare, add some sort of end game for us peeps who do not like shooting POSes. We will have small-med gangs roaming around killing peeps and we will shoot at them. Means FUN. We will brag about controlling this area for our faction and getting kills against those other guys and their carebear friends mission running.
And ahm... PROFIT.

The simple fact that the types are already licking their chops, waiting in line to kill all the carebears pretty much means I will be keeping my carebearing to .5 still.

In the map here http://myeve.eve-online.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=557 I see a few low sec entrance points.

2-With regard to ongoing stuff within this new area....are non-political outlaws able to come in to pick fights with whoever?
I would hope so, the exploration site battle complexes are limiting the size/type of ship that can enter but they way I have read some dev communications is that anyone can enter.

3-What is the anticipated effect on the rest of losec?
My guess theres a "omg this is new and cool" spike then it goes back to normal. I hope it gets some more corps into pvp and adds some more gangs to low sec.

I haven't heard of anything changing.
