Hey, this might sound a bit silly. But i often think of how to set up the perfect gang for different situations. But to often i find that the gang i want to field is not possible, because of many different reasons.
So i thought i¦d ask what your dream gang is, what do you want in your gang.
Atm i want to field
4 basilisk 4 rapier nano ofc 6 ishtar with sentry drones and nano fitted 4 interceptors 2 curse 4 zealot
good logistic lock down targets and have plenty of damage with nano ishtar working way out of range curse to suck stuff dry, rapiers to lock stuff down and zealot for insta damage.
more fun ideas?
btw i want a strategical game out of eve. play with fleets \o/

Kind of odd question if you ask me.
As far as nano-gangs go the great part about them is that you can pretty much slap in any ship that is fast enough and off you go. The sad part about them is the bigger the better, you list 24 ships, why not bring 25? Why not bring 50?
The thing I can point at being missing is falcons, or you will eventually run into something with remote repairing that you simply don't have the firepower to break. Falcons eliminate this. I'd probably drop the inties, drop the zealots, drop 2 rapiers, drop 3 ishtars, 2 basilisks, 1 curse, get 2 falcons instead and you have a small gang instead.

This. My ideal gang is one in which people know what they're doing. - Violence isn't the answer, it is the question. The answer is yes. |

needs more falcons tbh
and you might have better luck with scimitars instead of basilisks

True, given most ships tank armor versus shields.
But the "best" gang I can think of at a minimum includes:
1x Fast Tackle (Inty, or fast t1 frigate) 1x Heavy Tackle (Vagabond being favored here) 1x ECM Ship (falcon is the best bet, but any ECM ship would be welcome down to the lowly Blackbird) 2x Damage ships (Of appropriate mobility)
Everythign else is redundant.
Curse for example is handy if you can't muster the firepower to break a tank - break their cap instead. Thus the Curse indireclty serves as a damage ship. The ECM ship is keeping your own ships safe from enemy fire, thus mitigating the role of the logistic vessel. The fast tackle is there to get the early points and webs on, the heavy tackle is there for backup should your fast tackle go down or need to peel off due to damage.
But in a vague and general statement, a fleet should aim to have 1 ECM ship per 5 ships they field (a rediculous number to be sure). The reason is, with said concentration of ECM ships your own fleet can engage a similarly sized fleet and you are effectively fighting only a tiny fraction of the force. In the fleet combat I've seen, true logistics ships are replaced with remote reppers/shield transfers on the combat ships themselves, or on carriers. The reason is logistics ships are expensive (uninsurable) and easy to pop, whereas you can offload that capability to individual ships making for a better more manageable fleet in the long run.

You'll want 2-3 nano Scimitars rather than the basilisks. Speed and the range of the reps are more important then hp transferred.
Maybe a hyena or two in there in exchange for ceptors/rapiers.
Not sure about the ishtars with sentry drones. Heavies versus battleships are just so effective. Anything smaller will melt with all the other dps.
The curses aren't as useful as before the nerfs.
I'd probably replace the zealots with falcons. Maybe 2x falcons, 2x vagas.
As said before, figure out a way to include a Claymore.

Think you will find scimitars rep shield but can be nano'd nicely.
Also i think your intermix of ewar is a bit low. I prefer 1 ewar ship for every two damage dealers.

Unless that seasoned gangmate happens to be in a Titan, I'd say your statement is utterly false.
And I would hope by the time someone has invested the SP into some of those ships they would at least have gotten past their "******" phase.

That is your 'gang'? That's not a gang... that is just shy of a f'ing fleet!
Really though, most gangs I've seen/flown with aren't nearly that big. I think the most we've flown with is around 12 peeps.

Out of curiosity, since so many of you suggest multiple rapiers, why exactly 4 rapiers instead of 1-2 rapiers (to do cloaked scouting/tackling/possibly probing aswell as the webbing) and rest huginns? I fly both ships myself, but either my brain hasn't waken up yet or i'm missing a clue here. What exactly does the rapier bring to the table in above mentioned setups that huginn doesn't, which is better than the extra dps?

I dont understand why so many people mix fastmvoers with one or two bs'es..will be a pain to haul around. If you want fastmovers, deimos/sac/zealot are fine damagedealers, if you want bs'es, go rr.
