... so that they can not be used as unlimited points on regular ships. They should either be limited to be used against capitals / supercapitals only, or they should represent only a limited number of points so that people have at least some chance to counter it.
First alternate to CSM.

Disagree. Big thumbs down. Don't fly them myself of course but there are already plenty of possible counters to them without having to make it possible to stab up one's Mom >.< ---

Disagree. If anything it stops idiots flying through empire during a wardec with their lows filled with stabs, thinking nothing of traveling the lanes without a scout.

Evil me hopes they dont get changed cause It allows me to REALLY keep war targets pinned down, common sence me thinks....stock scan res SHOULD be cut 2/3rd imo, its ment to lock CAP ships lol.

Edited by: Sariyah on 23/05/2008 09:26:44 No chance to travel in lowsec at all with hics... no, pirate camps should not be able to catch everyone and their aunt and her dog. Even wcs have one use that nerfs you down to transport or travel only. An indy should have another option to counter HICs somehow other than shooting it down and wcs are useless right now. They are meant to have some use.

You have just convinced me to support this. "You must always use an alt on a second accont" is totally wrong.

It is a change to the module, not the ship.
A option to use a travel outfit, gimping the combat capability of ships, to move slow warping ships around without the need of a fleet in low sec should remain(war dec are another thing). A competent gatecamp will get them but giving a tool that allow any 2 man gatecamp an almost guaranteed kill is a bit too much.

No. They're no threat to blockade runners, so no change is needed.

If anything, nerf the scanning resolution of the ship. But I see no good reason for it to happen really. Also, you could have a corp mate to scout for you.

A 'normal' HIC setup is NOT going to catch a blockade runner with I-stabs, or any other I-stabed ship for that matter. Its when you can give up those mids for some sensor boosters that it gets quick, or if your remote boosted. Even then a good pilot will get away most of the times. Scouts ftw tho

Edited by: Sariyah on 23/05/2008 09:58:56 Using 2 accounts to have a chance at playing ftl. And no it isn't real hard to have 4 remote sensor boosters activated on someone. It's the way to catch people in lowsec and a damn effective one.

This. I've scouted for a T1 hauler to make 2 round trips from Teonusude to D2EZ-X (That's 50 jumps, through lowsec and 0.0 the entire way) for a corpmate who didn't have an alt to scout with in order to get emergency NPC pos fuel out there when my corporation didn't yet have capital ships to move cargo with...
In the six months my corp has been operating, we've lost ONE hauler - to a highsec suicide gank (gg Zenith Affinity, sorry all the really expensive stuff blew up). HICs and the infinitpoint have never caused my people a problem and there are two large pirate entities in the lowsec our capital ships stage from which camp the gates with HICs (a Phobos and an Onyx respectively) on a regular basis.
A correctly fit hauler can pass a HIC with NO problems. Fit a cloak and learn how to use it. Instead of fitting warp core stabilizers, learn to make your ship's align time super fast (i-stabs, nanos, cheap rirgs like low friction nozzle joints). If your hauler is a T1 ship, you might not have the option of MWD, but it's been in another thread on General Discussion that blockade runners can fit the MWD AND a decent tank (for a hauler) with little to no trouble (the crane needs one powergrid rig, whoop-de-doo).
HICs aren't broken, people who think WCS is the be-all, end-all of saving your ship are.

Always a version of the same reply: a cloaked blockade runner can make it. Perfect.
Now explain to me how I move a BS. 1 single BS, not a convoy, not calling a friend to spend an evening because I want to move 1 BS in low sec.

Rather than nerfing them, they should come up with a counter. It could be a rig that allows infinite warp core stabilizing. (Alternately you could have a higher level blockade runner that has an infinite warp core stab).

Hactors make lowsec completely unprofitable. If you fit stabs, unless you get caught by a huge number of ships, you should be able to get away. A single ship (perhaps with remote sensor boosters but meh, its possible to use solo) should not be able to completely stop everything coming through a gate. -------------------------------------------------------------- Seriously, we need some kind of separation between the post and signature. There you go. Now that wasn't so hard |

Yep, I think the main issue is traveling. A traveling fit ship should have a good chance to go through a 2-3 man gatecamp. Inertia/nano/wcs BS could travel decently through lowsec before unless a 3+ gang camping, I don't think that was unbalanced.
