Edited by: Hamfast on 22/05/2008 23:52:45 The Security level of a system should have more affect on the changes to a pilots standing with Concord.
All changes to a pilots standing with Concord (and only Concord) should be multiplied by the (posted) security level of the system the action is taken in
<edit> I have added the word "posted" in because of the information below from Hoshi in regards to the true security level(s) of 0.0 space... but as he said, it is all listed as 0.0 and you need a data dump to see the actual security level. So all nul-sec space would be treated as 0.0 for this.
Thank you Hoshi </edit> --------*****--------

Sounds good to me. Details might need some work.
Also, why didn't you merge these threads? ------------------ Fix the forums! |

As we are still "Figuring out" how this works, I wanted to limit each thread to 1 idea... this way you could support 1 idea, say all changed to a security level be multiplied by the security level of a system, without agreeing that Concord should show up faster if a pilot with a High Security status is attacked...

So if I kill someone in 0.0 (which is in reality -x.x) I got positive sec standing? ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

If you were to Pop and Pod someone in 0.0 and that would have lowered your Security Status by 2.0 in 1.0 space then in 0.0 space, that 2.0 would be multiplied by the security level of that space (2.0 * 0.0 = 0.0 Security adjustment)
Where do you find a system with a security level below 0.0? --------*****--------

Just like lowsec/highsec go from 1.0 to 0.1 nosec goes from 0.0 to -1.0 Lower means better ore, better npcs etc just like in highsec/lowsec. For some unknown reason ccp decided to display all negative security levels as 0.0, to find the real values you will have to look in the database dumps. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Why don't you think your proposed system through a little bit better and read up on the game mechanics before posting? I mean, if you want to be take seriously.
It would also be nice if people could support their proposed game mechanic changes with arguments as to why and/or what kind of effect they're envisioning in regard to the implicit, sometimes explicit, vision of EVE gameplay (as evident in current game mechanics and statements from CCP).

Hey got a crazy idea multiply it by the listed security rating.
Dear god could it be that simple?
No certainly not, there must be a catch somewhere!
Come on he's got an idea that has merit don't bring up trivial game mechanics that would require minmial effort to work around.
I'll support it just to spite the trolls

I'm not trolling, I seriously expect people to be able to formulate the current problem and what they envision their goal to be with the changes withing the EVE universe. Actually, I'd rather see posts that only do that, instead of poorly researched and thought out posts with game mechanic numbers; number which actually would be _the last part_ of the solution to tinker with.

Thank you for the information, until now I had never seen or heard of it as anything other then 0.0...
I will append this to my initial post. --------*****--------

Edited by: Brengholl on 07/07/2008 15:14:47 i like the idea i think it might actualy make 0.4, 0.3, 0.2 and 0.1 less safe than 0.5 because of pirates avoiding sec hits
edit to add support
