Eve University public classes
What is Eve University Eve University (E-Uni) is a the main corporate entity in the Ivy League alliance. E-Uni is dedicated to helping new players get started in Eve, and provides help through a large active community on our forums and corp chat, live ingame classes and one-on-one mentoring. We have been doing this for over 4 years, and have grown to be arguably the most popular and organised training corporation in New Eden.
While our classes are normally restricted to our students, we are looking to improve and increase our services to new players and the Eve community as a whole, and we are conducting a limited number public classes on a trial basis. These classes will be held on our teamspeak server, and will be accessible for players all players.
Public classes - how do they work Our public classes will be announced on the Eve University forums, in the Public Classes section. These classes will be taught by both E-Uni teachers and external teachers. To attend, join the ingame classroom channel advertised in the class thread before the class starts, and ensure you are able to log on to the Eve University teamspeak server. You will not need a microphone, as long as you can listen.
Do's and don't's If the class requires the attendees to be in a fleet together, pilots who are currently involved in a war will NOT be allowed to join. We do this for the safety of our attendees. If you are at war and wish to attend one of our public classes, we suggest that you join an NPC corp. Note that it might take you 24 hours to leave your current corporation, so make sure you move to an NPC corporation ahead of time.
It is impoprtant to maintain communications dicipline, and you should not talk on teamspeak unless the teacher says it is allowed. This is not to annoy the students, but to avoid teamspeak chaos and allow the teacher to teach. Questions should be asked through the ingame channel or, when appropriate, fleet chat.
The class teacher, as well as Ivy League directors, can remove players from the class as they deem necessary, to protect Ivy League/Eve University, or to prevent disruption of the class. Any Ivy League server administrator can remove players from our teamspeak server if they are being disruptive.
Be respectful to all players in the class. As they will be public classes, there might be people from rivalling corps or alliances, and we expect you all to behave - disruptive students will be barred from future lessons, and removed from any ongoing lessons.
It is important to remember that there are NO stupid questions. Some players will know more than others, and since our classes are aimed at very new players, they might ask questions some people think of as 'silly' or 'easy'. We were all new players once.
Interested in teaching? Are you interested in teaching a guest lecture at Eve University? Please contact Dierdra Vaal. Make sure you have a class proposal or outline prepared.

If people are ganged with Ivy League members won't they become potential targets for the Privateers?

This class will not require a fleet, and the 'no fleet invites when at war' applies to eve uni players as well.

I am having some difficulties registering with your forum, so I'll ask here.
1) Will you be recruiting out of the classes? 2) Is there a fee?
Elsehow a nice offer, which I will happily send my younger pilots to attend - well, if I get to keep them

1) Recruitment is currently closed. In the future ofcourse we hope that players who like our classes will consider joining us, but its not a requirement.
2) Our services are always free.
Also, registering on our forums is only possible through ingame means. I probably should post a small guide on it...
