Just in case the people on the market forums missed it, there is a thread pretty relevant to all of you: [Issue] Need ability to sell (or trade) corporation shares on market
Would be great to have your input there!
P.S. Please bump this thread to help out your fellow Trade/Share/Market players :)

We already have a CSM representative who was bringing up this issue for us. Unless somehow you were making this a more specific issue on behalf of LVV's research and "town hall meeting" efforts. Even still, post reported as cross posting is against the forum rules.

As I understand it, him beeing a representative isn't enough, since only issues voted for in the "assebly hall"-forum can be brought forth at CSM meetings.
Unless I haven't complete missunderstood the process of course.

I care. LaVista Vista gets regularly trolled in various ways. Wether it be for his age or for the honest & earnest way he goes about matters he feels important. Thus to have someone with a bit more "fame" than him to come along a few days later pushing (or co-opting) the same agenda LVV has been doing a damn good job with... credit should go where credit is deserved. The CSM has been politicized heavily. At least someone should try to keep it real. PS: To the other detractors, go get a clue you muppets.

Dear Shar,
Please keep in mind that some folks around here actually voted for Serenity Steele and are very happy that our chosen representative is doing his best to further our interests. That doesn't mean that the efforts of LaVista Vista aren't appreciated, they are. But LaVista's focus is very market centered, Serenity's focus is somewhat broader, does that mean that no one besides LaVista Vista can make Market related proposals? I certainly hope not!
Your comments on this are not very nice and come across as 'spiteful', as if every CSM representative you didn't vote for (anyone except LV) doesn't have any business promoting issues that are MD related. That's the kind of elitist crap certain people keep complaining about in this forum. I can see how they get that impression with reactions like these...
To even report the 'cross post' to the moderators is nothing short of the behavior of a spoild child "If I can't play with it, no one can!".

Agreed.
Shar - I do understand and can appreciate you championing LV. LaVista should get credit as well at the very least but no need to be reporting for an item we all want. If anything I would hope the measure carries more weight with 2 CSM champions. :)

I did not vote for LVV, something I posted about. And if I seem especially nasty, for that I apologize. I'm just being blunt. My only beef is that a few days after LVV posts the MD "hit list" of issues then comes traipsing in someone else showboating one of the issues in a more specific and louder way. I.e. Co-opting the momentum. Such is the life of politicians, yes. Doesn't make a difference who voted for who really. If "nice" was something Serenity wanted, Serenity could've bothered to notice a fellow CSM's efforts and either referenced back to it or joined with LVV to make it more prominent. IMHO (and I could be wrong) it's plagiarism. Now, take it with a grain of salt. "Posting" that a thread is reported doesn't mean it will be. And I doubt Serenity would be moderated considering the warm and cozy relationship enjoyed with CCP.

Oh, and for some of you weak hearts let me explain something to you.... get your post reported, even moderated, is not the end of any world. At the worst, the absolute worst, this thread would've gotten locked for being a cross post. There would have been zero, zero effect on Serenity.
In fact, get the thread locked would make it more prominent as everyone who reads this forum would immediately go jumping into the thread and follow it. Mind you, my acting an ass is keeping this thread very active and at the very top and very active.
Yeesh, some of you non-newbs should know me better by now. "Not every nay sayer is against you and not every yes man is your friend." A bit of drama and angst gets a thread "noticed" more than a whole bunch of "/signed"s no?
I would most likely expect Serenity to give little weight to me as I would equally give little weight to Serenity if the tables were turned. You don't get to be a veteran of any worth if something as petty as a dissenting view is going to put a bump in your day.
No matter who the dissenter is. |

LV's proposal is large and has some great ideas in it, the 'problem' is that there are things in it that I don't support and others I do support. It's already requested that LV split his proposal into smaller bites that folks can support or oppose. Also notice that LVs proposal is from the 28th, SRs proposal is from the 29th. The description of LVs pproposal is pretty generic, and this specific proposal is burried somewhere in the pdf, and not all that well defined. Similar ideas in and around the same time, posted without eitehr parties knowledge? |

D'oh! I seem to have misplaced most of a month in there somewhere.
Seriously, I like most of LVV's points, but not all of them, and some I strongly oppose. If the same items were posted piecemeal or even in smaller, more-closely related groups, I'd have no trouble supporting most.

It's already an approved idea that they have on the list of things to do. So there is no need to sell the idea to CCP.

Please also keep in mind that Serenity is nothing more than a CCP stooge. A PAID CCP stooge. Never before, (and I speculate) nor ever would again could an individual be so enamoured with CCP without actually being inside their rotting ranks. I was frankly stunned to see his name put forward considering the extreme conflict of interest. Then again, CCP would prefer to have brainwashed dancing monkeys pretend to look out for us and out interests.
But I always say... side with stuff that stinks, your end up reeking of the stench yourself. Because of Serenitys recent business dealings with CCP's publishing arm I'd say with great confidence that Serenity is in the tank up to his eyebrows with CCP love and stinks accordingly.
-I do not trust ANYTHING he has to say. -I do not LIKE him deciding to presume to INVITE us to the CSM forums like he owns them. -I do not believe he is doing anything but serving his own real life financial interests
In saying that, I am concerned with ANYTHING coming out of the mouth or mind of Serenity as being a potential shafting for the paying, playing public.

Now Shar knows I have no love lost for him. However, do not point to Shar's prior bad forum behaviour as an excuse for Serenitys clear breach of these forum rules.
In fact, I wonder WHY CCP hasn't acted upon Serenitys reported crosspost. Not suggesting ongoing favouratism and selective administration of forum rules for certian quasi-employees of CCP. But it does little to remove an ongoing impression that some are more equal than others where these forums are concerned.

Edited by: Riethe on 30/05/2008 11:34:09 I didn't say it was OK to cross-post.
I just suggested that perhaps someone other than Shar should be making remarks like that based on his own recent behavior.
A little contradictory, no?
edit: I personally don't care about either of the offenses, and I'm sure most people here don't. But I think if we're going to throw a fit over these things, cross-posting hurts a lot less people than intentionally avoiding a filter for the F word.

I disagree. The issue isn't just aboput a crosspost, rather the perception on how CCP treats 'friends' in game and in these forums.
Special considerations whether it be cutting friends slack on enforcing forums rules, or creating T2 BPOs for alliance friends by CCP employees falls under the same catagory. Abuse of the paying customer base. Unfortunately the email set up to deal with such matters refuses to address forum side abuses which leave little recourse for a true independent complaints process.
Of course you might not see this in a single simple crosspost, but those of us who have been around for years know the score.

It is a great community and an attitude like this is unnecessary.
You know, when you judge an entire group off of a few mishaps, you end up with ridiculous concepts, like racism.
It doesn't really achieve much, now does it?

Both of my points summed up better than I did. PS: If I break the forum rules, report me. Then see if I care. Till then, it's not hypocracy. I'm just not self incriminating. Besides which, mods hack my posts often enough so I have no fear that some of you regularly report my posts. Again, like I care.
