i just finished watchin this and i simply dont have the words this was easily the best "ever" EVE movie i watched, and the most unconventional, and i watched a lot of them im looking forward to another part of Clear Skies,i really want to know what will happen
about the modernizing attempt on the tempest bridge... it looks nice but... the ship is basically the home of the crew,it should have a more comforting, cluttered look this way it looks so empty ------------------------------------------------ When you get to the end of your journey, everything that really matters is the journey itself. |

Fantastic
Mr Rourke I lift my hat to you sir - very, very enjoyable, and probably one of the best new customer enticements that ccp have ever had.
I was particularly impressed that with 2 1/2 years in the development, you delayed publication til you had gone back and reshot most if not all of the shots of ships using Trinity's engine.
If ccp doesn't get you a tribal issue then it's a very poor show.
Thanks again, clever, funny, well put together and with a nice smidge of adrenaline.

Edited by: Derboff on 02/06/2008 22:32:17 There a three things I thought I would never see.
1) An Eve vid which was more then techno music with flashing lights
2) An Eve vid which shows what I mainly do in eve. Mission running with friends for backup
3) A thread where I was forced posted with my main
Because of 1 and 2.. I am compelled to do 3. The vid takes the essence of the eve experience for us players and puts it out there. I am an convert and will be watching closely. Not for the sequel, after hearing you on WDA like you a fear for your safety, but watching the web for the response.
Good luck in all you do. And no matter what anyone says be proud that as of this moment you have not only entertained vast numbers but inspired this individual to look to the skys for more then the odd star.
Thank you

I'm still gobsmacked by all this. I'm stupendously chuffed as well. Yes, CS2 is now on the drawing board, now I know exactly what "by popular demand" means lol
I hope other video teams are looking at this now and rubbing their hands going "we can do that" or "we can do *better* than that", because I personally want to see this Machinema 2.0 revolution happen with all the crazy talented people out there
I have the original script with all its annotations pinned to my study corkboard for posterity, I'll take it down and rewrite the electronic copy ASAP so it is as word for word as I can get it, then I'll put the DOC file up on Eve files for people to do translations. It's the least I can do for such an awesome community!
I'll provide the generic template maps when I can (the website is taking longer than I thought because generating the content got sidetracked by all the ideas for pt2 busting out my head!). They are rough and ready because they were just used for filming purposes - there are "too many light styles" errors all over the place and some of them might even leak, but hey, it's a start.
Regarding the bridge design screenies I saw, here's a quick thought on it: 1) I will be re-using the sets I already have for continuity purposes 2) That bridge is a great looking early design in general though 3) It's (way) too big, too clean, and too un-lived in 4) the floor and railing textures will cause horrendous moire patterning when filmed 5) you can't have glass in the windows, it destroys the bluescreening process 6) it's also too big because I had to match the dimensions up as close as possible to the in-game Tempest to do the transition zoomer shots between EVE and HL2 (those were done frame by frame ugh)
But I do like your style, and pt2 will need a couple more sets knocking up... More news as and when, I'll be tapping up some of the offers in here for: Set design Model reskinning (not the main cast but the Breen character as I like his gesture set, and some of the basic human models) Sound effects sourcing Stunt pilots. Lots of stunt pilots
Please don't deluge me with offers just yet, the need for this stuff is several weeks away at best, but if anyone good at reskinning wants to kick off their work I'm interested in seeing samples! I reserve the right to say "no thanks" and not get flamed to death If that will upset you, don't send it
Woo, big wall of text for this time of the night , sorry
