Ok, was all for this new patch and thought i would jump on SiSi to have a proper look, hmm. Anyone else been there? Anyhoo i thought that only alliances werent going to be allowed to join? But because i am in a player corp with a grantable role i also cant join as a player only partake if the corp signs up? or quit and go back to a smeggy npc noob corp. WTF is that all about seriously, has any thought gone into this.
B4 the flaming yes i have listened to the dev chat and read the transcrpits.
I really hope that after 24hours are up on SiSi and i can have a look at it proper the rewards and fun are seriously worth it otherwise it is gonna be a complete farce, that will destroy the current game.

You mean, another post about how much FW sucks and nobody thought of anything before doing it, even though everything has clearly been described in numerous Dev Blogs and whatnot?

No, you're the first. A true pioneer you are, sir.

Your thought was incorrect.

Lots... but... (continued)
Originally by: CetusOfAsuran B4 the flaming yes i have listened to the dev chat and read the transcrpits.
... if you did that, then you'd know all of this already since the developers have been speaking about this issue repeatedly. There's even a specific blog about it.
Originally by: CetusOfAsuran I really hope that after 24hours are up on SiSi and i can have a look at it proper the rewards and fun are seriously worth it otherwise it is gonna be a complete farce, that will destroy the current game.
I could possibly be inclined to agree with that statement if this was a mandatory part of EVE, but it is not. Thus it won't, and I can't.

actually no, its another post if it is one about not being able to partake in FW if i remain a key player within my corp, dont give a rats ass about alliances i agree with that part.
Fine peeps point me to the dev blog that states that capsuleers in a player corp cant take part if they have ANY granted roles whether it be key roles such as accountant or just can access. first to do that gets a mil isk.

Linkage
Quote: Signing up as a corporation
If you happen to be a director or CEO of a player corporation, when you visit the Militia Office you're given the option to enlist your entire corporation. This again functions similarly to joining an alliance: provided that your corporation as a whole has a faction standing of 0.5 or higher (it's an average across all non-zero standings of individual members), your corporation becomes part of the Militia at the next downtime.
I'll take my million ISK now. ---------------- Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.81 (Updated 4/8) |

erm, no that aint it. Our ceo has no interest in FW only me and a couple others therefore the corp will not sign up. As i have MOST grantable roles i cannot sign up without forfeiting these roles or quitting the corp altogether.
As stated as a sole capsuleer with grantable roles within a player corp i cannot sign up for FW. I suggest you log into SiSi and understand what im talking about b4 you post again.

If you really read the documentation on factional warfare you need to train your reading comprehension skills up a few levels.
To participate you either join the NPC corp for your faction or your entire corp joins the faction alliance.
You need to make a choice about the direction you want to go. What is so hard to comprehend about that?

I always thought corps/allainces were a mechanic implemented by ccp to make it easier for people to work together towards a common goal. I'm obviously wrong.

I just showed you exactly how a player in a corporation can sign up for factional warfare without having to remove any roles or leaving your corporation, which is exactly what you asked. ---------------- Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.81 (Updated 4/8) |

No you can put corps in but not alliances, they were just putting players into the militia corps today so we could playtest the system and bypass the 24hr application timers.

Ok so unless i want to join a lame ass npc corp i have to either A; convince my gallente ceo to fight for caldari when he has no interest in FW anyway B; find another corp that is interested in FW and meets all my goals C; start my own corp
Re'reading the bit you dragged from the dev-blog yes it does state "militia corp" but i took that as meaning in the sense of federation navy is a corp you run missions for not one that you had to literally join as in npc corp.
I really, i think, will have to get back on SiSi tomo and hope to get in during the testing times rather than during normal times and look again. If that is the case the rewards, no matter what, will never be as beneficial as being in a great player corp and will have to just give it a miss.

Ok, I did what i said i was going to do and managed to get into the testing time yesterday for the last hour to really get a proper view of what it was all about. And the result?
Well, i took today off work to make sure i was logged in in time for the real kick off, hell it is so much fun, if i thought for one second you could get this much fun down in low-sec all the time i would be there now. I dont think it will be as good when launched as it was in testing as we wont have the 800isk Bs :P (gotta love sisi) Nor the extremely competent professional 100+ man fleet organisational skills of ******.
I still dont like the idea of having to leave my corp to partake, but i dont care bout them anymore.
Anyone else posting FW is dead/dire/fail/b;ah b;;ah that didnt even test it out on SiSi STFU, until you try it you really dont know what you are missing, if you dont like it fine resign from it at any time, right now, afaic this is going to be brilliant and my hat is off to the devs on this one.

Lies! FW is fun? Someone actually TRIED it...and liked it? Impossible!
FW is full of fail, EVE is dying, the devs are incompetent, EA patch has nothing for anyone, the sky is falling and our sun is running out of fuel, on June 10th. Didn't you get the memo? EVERYTHING SUCKS.
