Simple idea: allow uninhabited jumpclones to be packaged up and couriered to distant stations by third parties. Make it an NPC corp like InterBus for a new isk sink, or make them avilable to player couriers so that playing as a full-time courier could actually be attractive.
If a ship carrying jump-clones is podded all clones are destroyed. Handwave it by saying they need extensive life-support systems on board the ship to keep them viable, and they can't survive in a wreckage. Players could obviously not jump into a clone during transit. EVE is dead |

Cool idea.. This could also very well work as a "workaround" for suggestions of "putting pods in a carrier". At moment, you can very well suicide clone to a station where your corporation has an active office, but it's not really a practical solution. Yet it's most practical (at first i wrote "pratical", and Firefox's suggestion was "piratical" !) solution.
You'd have to put some kind of restrictions though. And what would happen if you had the standings to put the clone at the moment, but once the person arrive to deliver the courrier, you don't have the standings for it anymore? Would clone get destroyed, and the courrier carrier payed anyway?
Need more thinking imo, but voted!

You're thinking too much about it =)
First off, you only need Standings to purchase the Jump Clone the first time. After that, it is replaced by the Medical Clone if/when you die. That's why people can join a Jump Clone capable Corp for 30min, buy up 5 Clones, and then drop and never look back. This idea would actually be more beneficial, since it would make "losing" a Jump Clone possible, and require you to go buy another.
When you dock at any station, and Jump to another body, the body you just left becomes a Jump Clone stored at that location. Only further illustrating you don't need Standings to store a Jump Clone.
This would actually be a pretty sneaky idea...
A courier gets himself Blue with some group, and makes a few deliveries to one of their stations. The next thing they know. there's a whole fleet worth of pilots in their system, because he delivered the corpsicles ahead of time. |

There would have to be an awful lot of ships and fittings available in that station for such a plan to work. Unless you intended to have a dangerous fleet of noobships roaming around. EVE is dead |
