yo it is about 3 o' clock US Central time, I hadn't expected the patch to be out yet but I decided to check. i get on and it says version incompatible, so I DL the patch it sent me, checked over the info, saw that it was the same as on the internet, you know, new militias and the such. After it got done reading it(took like 5 minutes) I had to install patch itsef (took < 1 minute). afterward I got this message.
Your Eve client instalation may have been modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please re-install client/ Verification failed: "D:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\common.ini", crc;3d268fd6, expected:d5d107b/ .....etc. anyone else getting this?
Oh, and this one just popped up too:
Patching Error in File resTextures.stuff. An unknown error has occured. Please try to install this patch again./
if this error persists you might want to try reinstalling the game/ Error=/ error ept0018:/
Just fyi, "/" equals a line break in the original message Will try reinstalling patch, and if that don't work then the game. Will update later. Please respond if you have any ideas

I get a corrupted file message as well. I went on eve-o and downloaded the newest classic version and tried to reinstall with no luck. Any suggestions?

I am trying that, too - I show "Status Unkown" same as when the server is offline for downtime. Apparently other players are on now, based on what I read in Forums.
I tried this over the weekend, too. After a lockup, I could no longer log on, uninstalled, downloaded client, and reinstalled - and still "Status Unknown".
Any clues would be appreciated. Currently waiting for 618 Mb to download. null |

ok for server unknown issues, be sure to go through your computer and make sure your firewalls are not blocking the new client from connecting.

downloaded the prompted patches for both the prem and the classic version.
Both installed fine and able to connect to the game no worries.
maybe they have updated the patch file since you guys had the errors? but works fine for me.

"The patch was downloaded but it failed verification indicating that the file is corrupt. Would you like to download the file again?
You will not be able to enter the game until you download the patch."
This is the error I get. |

I just managed to fix the "Status Unkown" error.
It was actually quite simple - new patch - new version of EVE, AKA - new removal from firewall exeption.
Go to your virus-program or firewall, and make sure to add EVE to the exections list again.

After two reinstallations I still get the same error. I'm now trying to download the patch from the site through Flashget and it's incredibly slow.
It's good to see CCP haven't failed to disappoint the community by yet another bugged patch attempt. The one thing I will give them this time is that the boot.ini hasn't been touched. |

The problem i have when i tried to patch to Empyrean age was that the SHA-1 number CCP gives you does not match with my download...
either it's my computer that nukes the installer or it's ccp that uploaded a bogus file...

Me too!
trying the uninstall and reinstall to see if that works.
Every patch is the same so CCP why not give us the choice of if we want to down load maybe like Windows it's better to wait for a while so that the bugs can be sorted.

I solved the problem by downloading the patch from the site and updating the game manually. Then to make sure things went right I cleared all unnecessary folders and started the game.
I wish everyone the best of luck with their problems.
Before you all start complaining about CCP not doing their job right, who do you think CCP are? Blizzard? |

I am having the same problems, when I tried to reinstall the new client I get a error message that says error opening file for writing C:\ProgramFiles\CCP\EVE\res.stuff and the nthe option to abort retry or ignore. Tried uninstalling and completely wiping game from computer and still having the problems. I would love to hear from a developer on this issue. if there is an answer somewhere on another thread please let me know. thanks

If the patch is failing you should either try to download the patch directly from the website here then manually apply it to your EVE installation.
If you are getting "status unknown" this indicates that your client is not able to reach the server properly, which can be caused by a very large number of things. Some of the following may help you:
* Disable any firewall or antivirus programs you have running * Run a trace route to TQ (command prompt -> "/tracert 87.237.38.200") * Try using a different port: read here * Run logserver and submit a bug report ____________________________ I break things.
