Recommended system configuration for running EVE-Online
OS: Windows« System XP / Vista CPU: Intel Pentium« IV 2 GHz or AMD XP 2000+ MHz RAM: 2048 MB HD space: 8.0 GB Video: 256MB GeForce 7950 or higher, ATi Radeon X1900 or higher and Similar chips from other manufacturers Network: Broadband Internet connection Drivers: DirectX« 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers
That is what I'd shoot for. Except for the processor, definetly grab a good dual or quad core 2.6+ Ghz if possible --

I'm going to buy a new pc SoonÖ , and i was thinking of getting a quad. But after some reading i came to the conclusion that very few apps/games support 4 cores... mostly with video processing.
So , it's better to go with 4 cores on eve ?

Okay first of all, this should be in OOPE.
Secondly, why oh WHY do you need a quad core? I feel like I'm bashing my head against a wall asking this over and over again. Very few programs are actually CAPABLE of using 4 cores. __________________________

Very few programs do currently, but:
- you always run several processes in the background
- the number of programs that will use 2+ cores in the next 1-2 years will increase dramatically, most time-critical programs already do (mp3/video encoders/compression etc.) and a large number of current games will also. So if you buy a single- or dual-core CPU now, you will have a much slower PC than the "state of the art" in 1 year and have good reasons to upgrade again then. OTOH, Intel quad cores don't scale well.
How to PVP: 1. buy ISK with GTCs, 2. fit cloak, learn aggro mechanics, 3. buy second account for metagaming
