Can I buy a jump clone slot off a person who sets it up? I never seem to break the 8.0 faction ceiling, so do I need it if I am buying a slot?

I believe he means he wants a corp who has high enough standings for jump clone slots. Not sure if any exist right now but they used to let you join the corp for a fee, get clones set up and then you can leave. (Clones require your corp to have 8.0 standing with the station owner)

You join a player corp that has a standing of 8+ to an NPC corp (not faction) that has medical facilities.
After joining you travel to up to 5 stations that have medical facilities and create the jump clones. You need the "infomorph skill", 1 clone per lvl.
Normal charge is between 5 and 10 mill isk for as many clones as you have skill lvl's for. You should pre-plan the stations so you can quickly create the clones and then quit the corp.

I was wondering how you managed to 'set up' up J/clones in empire space. Is this definatley it? If so is there a high demand for this sort of thing as i was thinking of setting up my own corp etc

To the Op!! sorry if this is derailing your thread.
To set up a new corp for J/C creation, make a fresh character with Corp management and Ethnic relations, hire someone with high standings,Caldari for you I guess. It will take a week or so depending on how high the transferee standings are, (needs a minimum of 9+ to at least one NPC corp to make the transfer efficiently) he will do one mission of any lvl to kick off the transfer. Once standings are achieved the character leaves your Ceo alone and customers join for a period not exceeding 23 hours (between DT's) create their clones then leave.
Example below for someone with 9.0 standing to the NPC corp.
Day 1: 3.94 Day 2: 5.2 Day 3: 6.15 Day 4: 6.86 Day 5: 7.4 Day 6: 7.8 Day 7: 8.1
or someone with 9.99
Day 1: 4.37 Day 2: 5.78 Day 3: 6.83 Day 4: 7.62 Day 5: 8.21
Fast efficient faction/corp standing transfers for Pos and Jump clones. 9.99 Gallente standing means Cheapest rates. 4 days to 7+, 5 days to 8+ |

Hmmm. looks like whats more cost effective for me would be to make a dummy corp for the sole purposes of doing my owwn jump clones when i feel like. i have a few questions though and would love if someone would be able to help me out.
1. once standings are done...what if the starting ceo stays in corp..do standings begin to drop?
2. what other benefits does this open up? does it offer pos possibilities and other missions?
3. anything else i should know about?

Not sure if "cost effective" applies here! it would cost you 150 to 200 mill to create your own J/C enabled corp, versus 5 to 10 mill to join a J/C service corp for a day.
1. Once the corp has 8+ standings to faction or Npc corp and you have a non active (no missions/standings Ceo) the standings will maintain indefinitely. One of my first customers 2 years ago still has the same standings I left her with.
2. with faction standings of over 5.0 your Ceo will be able to anchor Pos in 0.5 systems. with 7.0 in 0.7. Note the corp will hold the standings so your character will remain at 0.0 to faction and Npc corps.
3. The Ceo will need corp management lvl 1, Ethnic relations if you want other races to be able to join for J/c's, and Anchoring 1 for Pos anchoring. Of course the members will need a lot of science skills to conduct research or Invention.

Does it allow any options for mission running with corp standings being high?

Incidently i'd go for a navy corp for j/clones, others do have them but navy will definetly have them - will save a lot of time messing about looking :) if you want standings fast go and buy pirate tags and hand them into a data centre although these are costly. COSMOS agents can also be good for standings but may take longer, apparently once you have done all this the best way forward is courier missions:- pick a system with loads of agents in one station and pick up others on the way (not tried it personally)
