I want a right-click option for bookmarks, which allows a player to delete that bookmark instantly. Greetings, thanks for reading,

Open your People and Places, and delete it from the Places tab...

He means let us delete it from the right click rather than going through all our bookmarks, finding it, then deleting it from P&P. I trust this is not such a major thing to ask for given that people use temp BMing to salvage or create quick and dirty SSes.

So sort out your bookmarks. I've made folders for storing Station BMs, Asteroid Belt BMs...
Then my temporary tags, like Jet Cans or Wrecks from looting, are outside the rest of the folders in a small list. When I use them up, I delete them from People and Places.
The only delay would be, when you decide you're finished with a particular system. Then you have to search through and delete the station and belt BMs from the folders. But you can avoid that with a sensible naming convention. Search for "Ours", and all the marks relating to that system are displayed, which you delete at once and call it a day.

I'm all for this one. Very annoying to have to go into P&P just to delete a temporary bookmark for salvaging or mining-cans. ============================================================= If it's worth shooting at once, it's worth shooting at twice. |

I propose this idea to CCP, because the loading of all the bookmarks (PEOPLE AND PLACES) takes always such a long time, in which the client freezes temporarily.
When right-clicking some item in space, I get a menu which contains the BOOKMARKS of that system. In order to speed up the deletion, I want to be able to right-click on such a bookmark and delete it. The freezing of the client (due the data transfer of all my bookmarks) can potentially put me into a dangerous situation, if hostile powers are in the same system. Greetings, thanks for reading,

I shall call you PPS, because your name is too long.
PPS, no matter how many times you try and endorse an idea, that doesn't mean CCP will come running along and check it out. And putting "CCP: New Idea Here" in the subject bar doesn't work either.
That aside, it might be an interesting idea. But there's already a ton of stuff on that little right click menu. And its not terribly well arranged as is. Notice how easy it is to Block someone you intended on Adding or perhaps Giving Money to instead? I could see CCP, in their infinite wisdom, putting Delete smack in the middle of Warp To and Dock.

This game needs more SHORTCUTS!
Seriously. You shouldn't have to go into each window to perform every single task. Whether or not deleting bookmarks is significant enough to have a shortcut, I don't know. None the less.
Also, we should get rid of folders and just use Tags (labels). Most of these things we put in folders need to be cross referenced in multiple categories. -- autechre - ep7 - track 1: rpeg estevancarlos.com |

YES! MOAR SHORTCUTZ!1!one!
I'll just dislocate my wrist here... so I can press left Ctrl + right Shift + Num Lock + Tab + F11 + Spacebar... and then that'll make the camera zoom out...
Is it seriously that hard for people to organize their bookmarks while they're sitting in a station and doing nothing? Or do you just want the game to display ANY and EVERY possible action you could be doing, all at the same time?
Approach, Warp To, Warp Within, Dock, Bookmark, Delete Bookmark, Lock Target, Warp Fleet, Warp Fleet Within, Add to Addressbook, Block, Give Money, Make Contract, Start Conversation...
I'd be afraid that right click will lock up my computer faster than opening the Blocked portion of People and Places would (damned ISK spammers).

If not more Shortcuts then more customization. EVE doesn't even allow for a shortcut for "Show Info". I'm pretty sure everyone here uses that quite often.
What are you thoughts on labels (tags) instead of folders?

Folders keep the system from slowing down drastically every time you open the People and Places.
If you've spent any time on Rookie Chat, then you know you develop a quick mouse finger for Blocking ISK spammers. So try opening the Blocked tab, and see if your computer doesn't cry and wet itself.
If you had one HUGE list of bookmarks, with several tiny labels to each one depending on what you used them for... there would be tears.
That's why I use Folders. Then I see "Bases" and "Mining" and things like that. If I want to get rid of a station I no longer run missions out of, I don't have to scroll through every other bookmark I've ever made. I just open that folder, and find it from a much smaller list.
If you want to be totally OCD, you could make folders for each system.
Also, labeling is already possible with bookmarks, in the Notes section when you make or edit them.

The labeling system I'm referring to is the kind implemented by Gmail and Google Docs. Google Docs refers to them as "folders" but they function like a tagging system you see with most "web2.0" things. You don't have to view all items at once. You open a folder (access a tag) and then items under that name appear.
I just feel the bookmarks could use one more level of organization. If not labeling then maybe color coding. To emphasize things like importance, reminders, or what ever visual reference we may use. -- autechre - ep7 - track 1: rpeg estevancarlos.com |

I guess I just don't see the point.
Sorting into folders, and a personal naming convention, work just fine for me.
If I make temp bookmarks for multi room salvaging, I leave those outside any folders. But I label then in order of the rooms cleared, so I know which will time out sooner than the rest.
The same idea as making a Jet Can and naming it with the time you made it, so you know when it will disappear.
If you have several bookmarks, of varying importance, then sort and label them accordingly. But I don't see what's being bookmarked for being vital to life. Missions are the only thing that comes to mind, and they are already sorted into their own bookmarks without any effort.
