That's all I or anybody wants. WTF is going on??????? From an official. If you don't know, please release a statement saying you don't know. I just want SOME kind of hard info FROM THE SOURCE. Even if it's not you, SAY SO. TELL US WHAT YOU KNOW.
If this continues, this will quickly affect my decision whether or not to stay with this game or move on. I'm sure I'm not alone. I see hundreds of people dropping from tranquility every time a disconnect happens.

Oh, this is a good way to accomplish things: SHOUT, demand things... Good luck, you're gonna need it.

When calm rational questioning fails, the only answer is VIOLENCE.
But seeing as I am incapable of actually carrying out any said violence against Iceland (partly because crime tends to screw with my credit rating), I have to rely on the tried and true standby of TYPING IN ALL CAPS, since the forums can't even carry actual angry voices.
Gotta do what it takes to get heard.

Nah, calm talk in a bussiness and friendly way is always preferred over VIOLENT SHOUTING... Also, it gets you things quicker.

Clearly you aren't aware of the American way of doing business or talking in a foreign language, which is to talk LOUDER AND... SLOW... DOWN... WHAT... YOU'RE... SAYING.

There is appearantly a routing issue fropm the london data center, traffic is being de-prioritized from the DC so traffic coming through that area will most likely be hit or miss.. There doesnt seem to be a very good BGP system there to route traffic effectively, I ahve several servers in the UK and I have no problems connecting to them from the US, eve is offline after 5 min for me.... several traceroutes show me an intermittant problem with the routers there.
Seems like someone didn't setup good PEERING agreements with the other fiber proviers in the area.... --DreadM00n |

Number two, hundreds of people? I'm seeing THOUSANDS drop at a time.

While I'm no whiz at routing, I'm more of a server guy myself, but I did manage to get this trace off as I got dc'd a few minutes ago, it's pretty evident that you're right on the money with this..
5 10 ms 14 ms 12 ms dalsbbrj01-ae0.r2.dl.cox.net [68.1.0.142] 6 12 ms 15 ms 16 ms ve5.fr3.dal.llnw.net [69.28.171.105] 7 28 ms 30 ms 38 ms tge5-3.fr3.ord.llnw.net [69.28.171.198] 8 30 ms 32 ms 29 ms ve6.fr4.ord.llnw.net [69.28.172.42] 9 57 ms 63 ms 57 ms tge11-3.fr3.lga.llnw.net [69.28.171.194] 10 * * * Request timed out. 11 * * * Request timed out. 12 129 ms 129 ms 130 ms ccp.ve201.fr3.lon.llnw.net [87.248.208.150] 13 138 ms 138 ms 138 ms ve5.fr4.lon.llnw.net [69.28.171.138] 14 139 ms 139 ms 138 ms ccp.ve201.fr3.lon.llnw.net [87.248.208.150] 15 138 ms 137 ms 138 ms 87.237.38.200
Looks like the router at hop 12, ccp.ve201.fr3.lon.llnw.net [87.248.208.150] is having an issue. I can't tell from here if it's a peering issue or a plain old route table issue. As that router should always know how to route packets to the destination since in the successful trace below, it's the distant ends primary router. Instead, it appears to attempt to route out it's primary gateway router and that router is in turn sending it back down the pipe and then ccp.ve201 knows what to do with the traffic at that point. Unless the path between ccp.ve201 to 87.237.38.200 is problematic and I'm seeing the end of a round robin loop as it normalizes and the traffic can then pass.
A good trace:

Edited by: Jane Bennet on 22/06/2008 14:13:02 CCP has commented on the current lag issues in both separate threads and threads started by customers. I know at least 4 threads on these forums where CCP members have explained the situation. You, apparently, didn't bother reading them, so is there any point in assuming you'd read an answer in this thread, either, should CCP answer it?

Well, Ms. Smarty-pants, maybe if CCP sticky'ed something about this D/C problem the average person could find and read responses. Having them buried somewhere amongst many threads and rants and complaints don't make it easy to find.
OR!!!!!!!
How about a link about the problem on the splash screen? If they can stick adverts there they can stick something there linking these answers to the questions DAMN NEAR EVERYBODY is asking. Hmmmmmm?!? How about that?

Again Ms. Smarty-pants, this is a connectivity issue is it not? So it should be in what forum? Hmmmm?? Which one? C'mon, you can do it.... Starts with a 'K'.... says "connectivity" issues and work arounds... C'mon, you know the answer..
General Discussion covers more things like pew-pew, blobbing, nerf and buff discussions, does it not?

Also, This thread seems to be in this section of the forum, at least to me. Does it seem to be here to you? And there's those black posts from CCP devs talking about the situation. So was it really neccessary for the OP to demand an explanation that has already been given both in this section, and the general discussion section? Hmm? Or are there now too many threads with CCP explaining what's going on? I bet that's what you'll complain about next.
Even a cursory glance would have shown to OP that there already are several threads addressing the issue, and looking into those threads would have revealed CCP employees talking in most, if not all of them. But noo, the OP had to start his own special thread with all caps title and words like "demand" in it.
So allow me to reiterate: If he failed to read all those threads, what chances are there he'd read this thread, either?
They put the sticky in the general section because most clueless crybabies rush there first. Do you really think the OP would have noticed even a sticky?
