Sry if I'm just ignorant but at least I'm asking.
Why cant Caldari ships go nano? I mean I hear all about these Gallente frigates and there nano and how Minmatar kill them but why cant Caldari frigates/Interceptors ect. become nano ships and take the fight to the Gallente nano ships? Or is this theory not possible for the Caldari?
Some statistics or just plain out honest responses would be helpful to a newbie question.

Basically because they have low base speeds, high mass, and few low slots for overdrives. You can nano them, but you eally need to extra pimp them to get decent speeds.
Their weak powergrids can make fitting Microwarpdrives difficult, and adding powergrid mods in the lows, slows them down even more becuase you cant fit nano things.

Most of their ships are heavy and have a lot of mass so they will never be quite as fast as other nano ships even if their pilots decided to nano them. Missiles are intended to be a long range weapon so in theory, speed isn't a Caldari necessity.
There are exceptions though but in general, you are better off with a Minni nanofag. The race is already built around speed right out of the box.

Ah I see, well I'm going to try and find a way to decently fit a Caldari ship with nano, even if it kills me. Trying to stay patriotic you know?

Caracal, Navy Caracal, Navy Osprey, Cerberus and for some successful pilots, Drake, Navy Raven.
Then there is the crow but as an inty that's standard.
All of these can nano, some better than others. People complain about Caldari having no nano ships but there they are and with the advantage of, capless missiles, which always hit, and plenty of mid slots.

True.
Ill let you know when it comes around, its going to be a money sink for me but a good learning experience for all if us I think.
I advice my other Caldari brethren at least give it a shot too, I mean what do we have to lose?
Report back later.

We get the falcon, the only dedicated e-war bs, and the best t1 cruiser.
We don't get to nano, it's a fair trade. Someone has to be the slowest.
Take a month or two for amarr cruiser V and enjoy the sacrilege, it's pure sex.

This. Caldari have range, but not speed. Tank but not sustainable tank. And we are the slowest. Your experiments have been done, even with fantastic officer mods, its just waisted on Caldari. . .except the crow. ----

If you try to fit missiles and nanos on the same ship, it will explode immediately.

Hmmmm
- nano navy caracal, navy osprey, cerb, basilisk - nanoed raven and CNR (saw em already) - both ceptors, interdictor - HIC (just tad slower than broadsword and can be passive tanked + nanoed compared to amarr and gallente HIC) - nano drake
Yes - caldari cant be nanoed, NEVER. If you want to "nano" then you need to at least give it a try you know?
