If itÆs been suggested before, sorry, but the search function is kindaÆ cruddy... Just an idea: -
I quite like the idea of being able to offer a discount on the items that I have listed for sale on the market, to at least members of my own corp.
Perhaps like standings I can have a slider that allows me to set a % discount (or surcharge in the case of Goons) that will apply to members of my corp. When a fellow corp member views the market he will see the listings with the discount applied already and perhaps some indication that heÆs buying at a discounted price from a fellow corpy?
I would suggest that this be extended perhaps to individual players in your address book but can see that some traders would simply add everyone in Eve and the whole thing becomes mute..?
Anyway, there you go. Thoughts?

I know nothing about databases but a gut feeling tells me that the effect of this on the Eve database(and therefore on lag) would be horrendous.
I'm happy to be corrected on this by somebody who DOES know something about databases.

Judging from the outcome of the CSM meeting, which's minutes should be released this week, this is not viable from a DB perspective.

Speaking of which, what are you impressions of how things went? Hardin's been saying lots of good things but that's all I've heard.

It was excellent. I'm very happy about the outcome. I will explain further once the minutes are out.

This can be done manually. You would have a program like EMMA log who purchases your items and it would give you a monthly total of who bought what. You could then send them 5% of that in ISK at the end of the month.
Surcharges of course would be impossible outside of the honor system. Then again, it would be pointless since people could just use market alts.

This is what I do now, more or less, but this only applies if my order was the lowest anyway, hence the sale. My suggestion allows for my order not to be the lowest to you, for example, but the lowest from the view of a corp mate.
But, I note the DB issues comment above... Oh well. Just one of a long wish list...

I accept that this is what they convinced you. I do not accept it as fact though.

Having done DB work, my guess is that while possible, its likely counterintuitive to the NFS initiative and given that the feature has multiple work arounds and is slightly self defeating in nature. (want to discount to corp members... just have open contracts only available to them) the request is pretty lofty. |

Seeing as how this is exactly how research / manufacturing / copy / invention slots work - I can tell you with 100% confidence that it is completely impossible.

I employ a rather simple solution to this, although it may not be practical for those with incredibly high volume of sales.
I watch my wallet.
When a local blue buys something, they get 10% wired back to them.
When a corp member buys something, they get 20% wired back.
It's not that hard to keep on top of things this way, although it is bad if you get behind.
