I was curious to know how armor resistances are calculated when you have a per level increase (special ability bonus) based on your skill flying that ship. So, for instance:
Abaddon Base Armor Resistances:
50% EM 20% Explosive 25% Kinetic 35% Thermal
Special Ability - 5% Armor Resistance per level
Sooo, with that in mind, at Amarr BS lvl 5, would it be:
75% EM 45% Explosive 50% Kinetic 60% Thermal
or would it be like adding hardeners on your BS where the additional resistances simply reduce what remaining damage can get through after base resistances?

It is indeed additive, as with the Drake / Rohk - if I start with 0% base resist to EM on shields, after the Lvl 5 skill is applied I will have 25% base resist to EM. ________________

Thats exactly why people get confused, because from base 0 its the same in both cases

It works like hardeners, AKA an amarr ship with 20% base resist to Explosive gets 25% (assuming level 5) of the leftover damage, AKA 40% (.8*.25=.2) total explosive resist.
So your resists would be 62.5 EM, 52.3 Thermal, 43.8 Kinetic, 40% explosive.

Not really contributing anything to this thread but just saying it would be really awesome if resistance bonuses actually worked that way __________________________________
